I like the sprites, ;), but yeah, you need more information on this thing. Also, non-empty maps.

The maps are empty because those are all the sprites I have right now. I used Gameboy Zelda sprites for the second map :P

It is generally a good idea to stick to one style whenever possible, otherwise the game gets a patched feel... like my Super Smash Karts >_>

Not to sound like a DICK but (olo dickbutt); you have no story but you've started developing on the games events already?

One of the biggest problems of this forums developers is their process for development...

Come up with some story first, make a DD of how you want it to pan out, start developing your basic engine, and then flesh out your story and your game together. Key events first, then add the in-between events. You can't just up and name a game without having some general idea for a story, and you sure as heck cant start making your in-game events before you have any clue where you want to go with it.

I'm sorry but it appears as if you're simply playing around in RPG Maker instead of actually being serious about developing something.

I'm going to stick with the rpg battle engine. No other Zelda game has it, so I want to give this a unique feel.

Yeah your right about the story part though.

I agree with you on this one. You also got a title, but not a story. Doesn't the title represent (although vaguely) the content of the story and a bit of the gameplay?

The maps are a bit empty and the bridge on the first map looks really weird with those bumps. And a transparent Link? But isn't it custom to have at least 4 screen, before it is called a WIP. To me this feels more like a concept. Mainly due to the fact it lacks story and gameplay basics.

I'm going to stick with the rpg battle engine. No other Zelda game has it, so I want to give this a unique feel.

Yeah your right about the story part though.

Unique and Original are so overrated concepts. I vaguely remember something of a Zelda fangame by the name of Sage Knight, which features a RPG battle system. If I'm not mistaken.

I like your Link though. But I think the sprite could use some work. I can see white pixels at the edges in screen 2 and 3.
