So I rented AACF a couple days ago and it's pretty good. Has anyone else bought or rented it?

I might ask for this for Christmas, not sure though...

I might rent it first.

I rented it first just to make sure I wasn't wasting money for buying it. I think it's pretty good, but I was disappointed that you couldn't transfer items over.

Nintendo has been very lazy with this "new" Animal Crossing game! If you played any of the previous Animal Crossing games you'll quickly notice that hardly anything new has been added. And the fact that we had to wait so long for this game makes it even more dissapointing.

Hardly anything was new in Wild Worlds, so looking at the N64 version (Which was imported to the GCN in the USA) I think it was sad that they removed the private island in the NDS version, I liked farming Coconuts...

I still haven't gotten the game yet, so, I can't really say if something was added or something was removed.

But AC:WW is a DS game, back then I think all we wanted from the DS was a portable N64 :P That's what it felt like Nintendo were giving us at least ;)

Meh, AC could never hold my attention. I'm not going to play a game every !@#$% day just so I can pull out the weeds. I call that a chore.

Wasn't there a ghost who could pull all the weeds for you if you found all his ectoplasmic spermies?  Or something like that…

I've heard about that, but never actually put in the effort to find them.

I also never played the DS one, so this animal crossing might not seem as familiar to me.

Yeah he comes at 1am.

Animal Crossing is alright, but it gets boring to fast, and once you've done everything what other reason is there to keep on playing?

Nah I see it as having town pride. I actually love the Animal Crossing games, because they're just pointless, innocent fun. No time limit, not real objectives... It great. Give you a break from constantly saving various princesses...

And you got unlimited bells until you turn the game off..  And now that you've used that code, it's still kind of cheated into the game.  :-\

Side note; Big misconception that they ported it to GCN when they released it here... The N64 and GCN versions came out at the same time in Japan. They decided to only release the GCN version here to promote the new console. o.O dunno why people think it was out as an N64 exclusive (or anything to that effect) in Japan...

It was released for the n64 first Mammy, that's why.

It would have been pretty weird to release it simultaneously for the GCN considering the GCN wasn't released yet.

Yeah, and ported to the GCN long before being released in the USA. The point is that it wasn't ported for a successful release in the USA, like a lot of people assume :P

It was ported to Europe 2 years after it came out in Japan (Or something like that).

The reason there so much confusion over the N64/GC thing is that its the same game but with more furniture and clothes etc. in, but nothing really new, like in WW of CF. Or thats what I've been lead to believe...

The animals in City Folk suck. They just repeat the same thing over and over, and seem to have attitudes if you talk to them more than once per day. "Am I paranoid, or are you the only one I've talked to all day?!" ... Jerk.

The Pro designs make up for that, though. I'm having a blast designing my own crap now.

Also: Isn't Gracie Grace supposed to change out every month? December rolled in and they still have the same items from before...

I'm sure luigi would. I also found out that you can't plant those japanese apples because they are treated as furniture and they are as worthless as Pitfall Seeds.

City Folk is good, but the original was WAY better. Better camera angle, no forced shitty items (watering can/slingshot anyone?), more features for the town instead of a generic town hall, the train station was good, the animals did more than just say one-liners; you could ask if they needed a job doing, and the island still hasn't been brought back.

Oh, and might I add the music shits all over the Wild World crap they lazily ported straight over. Really, how hard would it be to port over both sets of music and let the player choose which set to use?

Anyone else feel this way?
