Four Swords came out in America first with ALttP remake. FS aslo came out on the same day in japan as The Wind Waker came out in America. My big question is, which started being developed first? (Not which was released or which was info-leaked first.)

Wind Waker must have taken longer to develop.  It's a much bigger game, plus it's in 3D.

Wind waker was in deelopement since the late 90's, early 2000's. You can also tell since phantom ganon and the helmaroc king were recycled into it.

Wind Waker was in development for quite a while.  I first heard about it in 2001.

Thankyou very much. But, Helmaroc and Phantom was recycled into FSA, not FS. FSA was no doubt made after Wind Waker and FS/ALttP. Considering FSA was FS in ALttP style with Wind Waker details.

The simplest answer is

"Obviously Wind Waker was first."

Simple answer => Wind Waker.

First it took longer to develop. Not to mention that screens of TWW were shown a lot earlier than four swords. I think very little to no screens about four swords was released as the marketing focused more on ALttP remake.

Second in Japan and Europe (not America), the Wind Waker was released first before Four Swords.

But my guess is that the style was developed simultaneously for both games, because Myamoto thought that style would appeal to all ages.

I would say that Wind Waker came first, in 2000 spaceworld they were demonstrating a Zelda engine with awesome graphics, which they said they used instead with the WW graphics, so the WW engine itself has been in development since the late 1990s, since the first WW screenshots came soon after you can only presume they were toying with those graphics before spaceworld as well.

Since the gameboy advance was not released until mid 2001, and the Zelda wasnt released until 2003, and the Wind Waker was released in 2003. I'm guessing a 3D game you dont have an engine for might take a lot longer than a GBA game you already have a full engine for (the LTTP engine). Based on this, the WW style definitely came first.

But as others said, thats the obvious answer too.

Actually, I just looked at the topic title. And the answer is that the style of both games came at the same time. Both use the same style although one in 3D and the other in 2D.
