i agree w/ you, jesus was just a guy who wanted people to live in harmony
if you look at all the religions, and all their basis', you'll find that they all live by the same basic rules of don't kill anyone and what not
i also think the bible is meant to teach people tobe nice and all jazz, through the exagerrated life dealings of the people within

and in the joke department, i know jesus, he lives behind my coach and hogs the chip bowl

One thing i used to consider when i was younger, was that it was possible for jesus to have been of great intelligence, and merely claiming to be the son of god in order to provide a vast influence from which he could improve the quality of mankind.

This whole entire thing was supposed to be a funny view. I wasn't being serious at all. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, I don't know, and it doesn't affect me. I don't believe in Jesus's being a prophet to begin with - I'm not Christian.

Well, I think everything in the Bible can be explained metaphorically. Not the New Testament, I don't believe in it, but the Old Testament. For example, there is a common belief that each "day" of creation was actually several million of our "Earth" years, which matches to scientific beliefs of creation.

OfficeSpace wasnt talking about you ( Hes been a poster throughout this topic, ie thats not his first response to the topic ).

If you google Jesus walking on water or ice, you get hundreds of articles saying "It was ice that jesus walked on, says...".

Obviously its entertainment behind the literal form of it (One article suggested a plume of fresh water, frozen,  could have rested on the top of the sea for a short peroid during cold periods: That would probably convince alot of people!).
When i first read your main topic post i thought what you meant though, and not the literal idea tht he walked on ice.
Rather that, maybe one day, a story was told involving walking on water, in order to demonstrate a point, or fortify the strength of the messages in the overall reading material.
So as you suggested, the entire documentation of walking on water could have been metaphorical.
