I kind of agree, Dascu...from the previews I was thinking it was something else than what it was. I was expecting a more fantasy-oriented film, but I was still pleasantly surprised with how they blended the fantasy and reality of it all. Just kinda wish there would have been more cool effect stuff.

I was just wondering...cause I had watched an HBO special on it...and I thought I remembered them speaking English, but maybe not.

Yeah...I was kinda surprised by the amount of gore as well. So many people died...and all the torture and stuff. Then again...it is Spanish, I'm sure they can get away with different stuff than us. Did you see it in English?

Other Discussion / Re: Do you smoke? If so,why?
« on: February 09, 2007, 06:00:28 pm »
I don't smoke and I never will smoke. My dad did a lot of bad things when he was young, mainly smoking and drinking...and it drove away his family. I inhaled more second hand smoke in the first 13 years of my life than I ever planned on for the rest of it. Even that does bad things to do...I'm in Choir, and you can't tell me that you can keep good breath support with all that tar in your lungs.

Plus, I work in fast food...and it's amazing how many people come in with "Smoker Voice" as i call it. That raspy, awful sound that escapes the mouths of people who wasted too much time and money on 'relaxing'.

Smoking is not a stress remover...it's a placebo. People who get really stressed shove a tar stick in their mouths, and take a big ole' puff...all the crap in the cigarette enters their body, messing with the chemicals in their body and mind. Makes them think they're stress-free. It's the same with weed, except that's way more psychological than cigarettes.

In reality, you can get that same stress-free feeling with anything. Sometimes just a deep breath WITHOUT breathing in toxins can help calm you down. Other times there's certain activities that can do it. Nobody needs cigarettes to relax...and you certainly don't need them to fall asleep (in reference to the first post). Take sleeping pills, if nothing else. Or just don't drink a bunch of caffeine, or do a thirty minute tai-bo lesson before bed. You gotta clear your mind, and relax your body, or else you'll never sleep. If you're all hyped up on sugars and energy you'll never get to sleep. The only thing cigarettes do is get you one step closer to the eternal sleep.

For the record: My dad stopped smoking and drinking about a year ago, now...after me and my brother stopped talking to him and seeing him, and he realized that he was screwing over his life. He's much happier now that he's clean, and regrets all the crap he did that led to him losing his family. We're closer than ever.

I doubt many of y'all have seen this...I know it wasn't anywhere in theaters near me...but it's an amazing movie. I downloaded it...it was only subtitles, but I'm not actually sure it's out in English anyway. I was just kinda wondering what y'all thought of it, if you have seen it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Debates / Re: Religious debates - things we simply cannot live with.
« on: January 29, 2007, 03:40:15 am »
I'm not saying you can't learn anything from debates, it's just a lot of people debate in the first place to brag about how much THEY know, not to find out what the other person knows. I mean I've gotten into debates about topics I know nothing about just so I can see what I CAN learn...but that's not how it usually works. People just want to show what they know in debates...you can't deny that fact.

Entertainment / Re: A Real Zelda Movie is it possible?
« on: January 29, 2007, 03:37:59 am »
I think this looks like it could have potential...but not as a fan movie. Those can have some cool effects and stuff, but they just don't have the same polish and attention to detail. I mean notice they only showed human characters (except Ganondorf). Imagine what the other species would look like...

Debates / Re: Religious debates - things we simply cannot live with.
« on: January 28, 2007, 06:14:41 pm »
I think I know why we need debates. We all have our beliefs on topics, namely religion, but we don't really express them. I mean when do you really talk about your religion outside of church? But then some day someone comes along and says "Hey you, Christian...you're stupid" and tries to fight you on your beliefs. So you 'Jesus pwn' him and he runs off crying. He might not have learned anything from your 'Jesus pwn', but you did. Debates are rarely for the people you're debating with...because think about it...we all want to think we're right, so half the people that debate won't take anything away from the other person. Debates are for you. You have your beliefs...and by hearing the other side of the story, and saying why you're more right, your beliefs get stronger. So yeah...you can't stop debating, because then we'll have no way to strengthen our beliefs.

Debates / Re: Having long hair is the new style, for guys?!
« on: January 25, 2007, 02:35:44 am »
At my school long hair is thought of as creepy. I know a few guys that have it, and they're either the awkward rock-wannabee guys...or gays. I don't think a man should have hair like a woman's. Hair can really change how a person looks...and so girls with really short hair and guys with really long hair just blur the lines between male and female looks. Guys can do plenty of styles with short hair...like that messy style is fine, cause it's still long, but the hair is put to good use, instead of just dangling over your shoulders. And there are very few girls that can pull off short hair, just like there's very few guys that can pull off long hair *cough* Fabio! *cough*. This isn't the best discussion for me...since I barely have any hair, but still, I know what I'm talking about...I have a lot of female friends that know hair.

Have you seen the show Home Movies? It was on Adult Swim for a while...pretty good show. This looks like what would happen if they drew Link. And let me just say that they don't have the best art style...

Debates / Re: Religious debates - things we simply cannot live with.

I wasn't necessarily saying anyone's views on RELIGION are more valid...although in some cases they can be. Such as an uneducated Christian arguing religion with a Buddhist monk. I think the monk would know a little bit more about his own religion. But in a normal situation like us...none of us know what the crap we're talking about. Let's face it...we wing it.

And you shouldn't ban religious debates, cause that's no better than the people banning religion. Saying that it's something unfit to be talked about, is just like saying it's unfit to be discussed in schools, or unfit to be put into Presidential speeches, or unfit to say "Under God" in the pledge. It's all stupid...people have freedom of choice, it's given to us by the state...that means there's no such thing as seperation of church and state, because our state given liberties will be used to proclaim religious freedoms. Ironic how that works, isn't it? You can't stop religion...you can only !@#$% off a bunch of it's followers by trying.

I agree...I wear baggy pants all the time, cause I hate the type of jeans I was talking about...so yeah, I hate boxers. Hard to...um...nevermind. Keep it clean. Let's just say, it's too baggy for me.

But why should you accept the people with stupid views on things? I mean saying "Don't insult people that disagree with you" is what's degrading us all in the first place. Sometimes people are wrong, and their views aren't valid...that's no reason to say "Oh, that's okay...you're allowed to your opinion". No, you should say "Why would you think that? It's stupid." You shouldn't be afraid to offend people...we're all too cocky anyway.

I don't care about sexy, I just like comfort...and I know that tight-fitting pants are not comfortable...I've worn them many times. Comfort largely outweighs sexy. Guys don't need to look 'sexy' that's a word for the ladies. We just need to do our best to not be jerks.

I say you do the first one, with the design from the third...but not in Pink. Do a color that matches the rest of it more.

So yeah...me and my buddies have been making some improv comedy skits during play practice (we're not really big characters, so we have plenty of down time) and I finally figured out how to transfer videos over from my camcorder to my computer...so I uploaded the ones we have so far onto YouTube. They might be kind of offensive to some, and occasionally pretty vulgar, but we all think they're hilarious. Better than a lot of the crap on YouTube. Here's the link to my videos, if you wanna see:

A Day in the Life of Trailer Trash
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIGNhoXASf4

Oklahoma Audition Gone Wrong
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FOobM3blFs

Gay Marriage Counseling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG4rtZuP12o

Keep in mind these aren't professional...I mean we're wearing street clothes and they have a hard time not laughing...but it's all good. We're all actors. FYI: I'm the cameraman...won't see me in THESE videos. Probably some future ones...cause me, Chris (the one in all three) and another Chris are gonna make a sketch comedy group, and these videos are basically some outlines for future projects we can to do more professionally. Look out for it later this year ;)

Yeah...I have ONE friend that has a PS3 (right...I know ONE person with one), and he regrets it. Not because it's a bad system...he loves playing Resistance (the enemies are so freaky...OMG!), but like...the fact that you CAN play PS2 games on it doesn't outweigh the fact that you WON'T. They ALL look like crap...even FFXII would have looked better if you had superimposed Pong over it. I mean considering it's supposed to be backwards compatible...that's pathetic. And I'm not even touching the fact that you have to buy an adapter to attach the PS2 controller (money-thiefs much, Sony?) just to PLAY these horrific looking games on your shiny, $600 doorstop. So yeah...it's a pretty system...but definately no match for...well...anything else.

Not all GB sprites are the same size...look at Ganon. I mean the bosses and stuff are different sizes a lot. I think it looks good...except the head. Doesn't have the distinct, creepy Zant head.

I watched them all and I haven't even played it...but it's all good, I needed something to make me anticipate the game more...now I need to know how they all fit together.

And I noticed that Ganondorf kinda looks like a mix between the OoT Ganondorf and the WW Ganondorf(more the WW one though), so if it really is the same guy in all the games...I wonder what causes his appearance changes between the games...
