Hurray to those who mentioned MGS3, DMC3, Final Fantasy Tactics. They are truly some beautiful games, and MGS3 is really high up on my list of whoamygod amazing games. Although my favorite right now is probably (and this should come as no surprise to those that know me well):

Xenogears

It's an amazing PS1 RPG with one of the best storylines of any game, my favorite RPG battle system of all time, 3 dimensional characters, and very appealing graphics. The game would be even better if it weren't for the obvious budget and time constraints that crippled it. It truly is a wonderful game, and a remake of it with Xenosaga III graphics would quite possibly make my heart explode.

Chrono Trigger, SoM series are nice, but not the best in storyline <.<

How is it so horrible?  Just because it doesn't have any story(just like any of the old 2D Sonic games) doesn't make it so.  The levels are the meat and potatoes of the game, and are definetly what Sonic games should focus on, unlike SA/DX, SA2/B, or ShTH, which for the most part focus on the c***** stories.

Heh, I agree on that. Xenogears was an amazing game with a great story and colorful characters. The battle system was innovative and fresh. Graphicly it wouldn't at all match the standards today (it's worse than Mario 64 damnit), but it still adds a lot to the game. Not my favourite, but a great one.

My favourite game would have to be Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 or Link's Awakening. I can't really decide as all games are absoultely wonderful, and some of Rare's masterpieces for the N64 are just stunning. The creativity and effort put in those games (even though BK and DK are Mario 64 gimmicks) are astounding. All the characters are loveable, and DK and BK set the standards after Mario 64 for adventure-puzzle games.

Diddy Kong Racing was one of the first racing and N64 games I played, and it really left a mark. Racing in the beautiful scenarios, with fun missions and great replay value I really hold it has one of my favourites.

And then Link's Awakening. My first Zelda-game, which deserves more attention than it currently gets. Sure, it's a quite mainstream Zelda-game, but the trading sequences, the photo man and the humour throughout the game really adds to it.

There was a DK64? Is it like DKC? Because the DKCs were my first(and one of my favorite) games.

Yep, my first N64 game.  Wish I still had it, although now I'd probably get bored of it a lot faster.

That's really difficult...I love so many games. The one that I have the most childhood memories of, though, would be Super Mario RPG...so I think I have to go with that. SNES will never die!

Wow, we have a lot in common. I do believe that Illusion of Gaia and LoZ: A Link to the Past are the best games I've played.
but there are some others I love, such as Kirby's Dream Land 3, Yoshi's Island, Metroid 3, Final Fantasy VI, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are the games I love and still love today. These Seven games are my true top ten games.

Not really, mainstream IMO is not Zelda, yes it is popular, but if it isn't shooting or racing, it isn't main stream. Plus he doesn't have Halo or Guitar Hero on there, which are extremely mainstream.

Mainstream is not neccasarily good, but it is still super popular for some reason. Like current rap, in other words, c-rap. Very popular, but generaly not good. Like the PS3 was, everyone loved it for no good reason.
