Title: Character Contest '08. So now what?
Post by: Walnut on November 18, 2008, 04:49:07 am: This board is dedicated to the 2008 character contest. We have been running these since 2005, making this the fourth annual contest, although we're a little bit later than usual this year.

Previous winners include:
2005 - Invader Lupus' The Wanderer
2006 - Halotank's Discuss the Dinosaur
2007 - Hero of Fires Hane

This board is for general discussion and questions related to the character contest. Please keep everything related to the contest here, or in Avatars/Signatures/etc.

The Entries Sub-Forum is to have a kind of character bio for voters to get a feel for your character. There will be a sticky in this forum relating to format. One topic per character please, and only one entry per person unless given permission otherwise.

Brackets are made up depending on how many entries we get, so draw up a bio for your character and enter!

That is what I am wondering this whole thing seems like it would have been easier if there had just been a deadline date as apposed to the whole "this many character and we do this, lets start now later and before" business.

One thing you must learn about me, I don't do well with deadlines :P

Apparently everyone wants 16 bracket so this year's entries are closed, but you can still get an entry read for next time, which should be between Spring and Summer. I'd be more organized but this was kinda dropped on me.

I'm assuming because no one's really quite sure what's going on yet with starting the competition. Other than that, I have seen announcements about creating characters and whatnot.

I thought it was taking place in 2010.

Also, like I mentioned in my last PM, walnut100, DJvenom agreed to help with the News, so if for some reason I am preoccupied, you can go through him; I tend to not be, but it makes it easier to break up certain responsibilities if possible - not to mention a different writing style can be refreshing.

And yeah, I just have one more final. The Calculus 3 one kicked my ass, but everyone in the class had the same experience. I should have my time freed up by Thursday night actually, but yeah next week is a good start date.

Oh wow, the days of Cal III are so far behind me :P (not really, like a year and a half). I miss Cal III sometimes.

As for this contest, I'm also going through finals, so waiting a bit benefits me.
