I think you should go for it. It may hype up Oblivion again, too.

You should have some really funny voice actors for a few people. Like, super lolz.

NTHARCAN

Character Biography
A beast of wonders, this crimson-furred monster of sorts is the most powerful of his kind. Ntharcan has been mistaken over the years for the frumious Bandersnatch. Is he actually the Bandersnatch? Of course not.

Ntharcan is a mythical beast known for having a hunger for souls. He serves as a container of souls for Death. When Death takes a soul, It feeds it to Ntharcan and Ntharcan thus gets his energy from the thousands of souls in his stomach. That's a lot of energy.

Death found Ntharcan as a baby on one of his quests for souls. The baby beast was at some of its last breaths of air. When Death's eyes fell upon the once adorable little beastling, It could not help but take It in its arms. Death fed the little beastling the only food It had at the time: a soul. After eating the soul, the little beast suddenly absorbed nutrients from it. Unlike humans, the energy never wore off. Death was intrigued, and kept the little beast as a companion. Death assumed that since its energy never wore off, the soul would never escape the beast's body.

After feeding more souls to the little beast and watching the beast grow and never lose its energy, Death gave it a name: Ntharcan. Since Ntharcan grew to become huge and mighty, Death decided that Ntharcan would serve It on Its quest for souls, and would keep the souls safe in his body.

FAQ
Is Ntharcan a furry?
NO. He is BEAST.

How does Ntharcan retain all that energy?
It is not known yet, but he somehow keeps all souls fed to him in his body and continuously gets energy from them.

Why did Ntharcan team up with Edward Cullen?
Edward Cullen serves as an icon for many girls. Since girls are not usually too fond of scary beasts, this helps Ntharcan in the election. i.e., Edward Cullen is hot and attracts attention.

Why is Death referred to as "It"?
Death does not have a gender.

Does Ntharcan like TACOES?
He doesn't know. He only eats souls.

Misc Info
Ntharcan teamed up with Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen). Check the FAQ as to why. Also, Robert Pattinson is much hotter than Ellen Page.

Okay, if you're not using drag n drop, then that's cool.

I'm glad you took my words as constructive criticism and not offensively btw. Your game does have potential. :)

bah, stupid youtube changing itself to be country specific, it invalidated my links.

You just reminded me of how awesome that Eiffel 65 CD was. I had it as a tape (LOLOL old), and I would listen to it 24/7, srsly. I'm tempted to listen to it again for the lulz and maybe for the awesome.

THAT was the first song I thought of when I saw this topic.

Same. Which is why I beat you to it :P.

I have so many other songs from my childhood. I can't really access YouTube right now (lol in class can't verify music), but here's a list of crap I seem to remember:

-Mambo No.5 ...............Lou Bega? I don't remember. I got my grandmother the album LOL it was so lulz.

-MEN IN BLACK!!!!! Oh God that was the best song evar.

-Space Jam song....was it called Space Jam? It was like the best song ever at some point.

-Prozak. Prozak. Prozak. I found the CD the other day...and played it...and took it out 2 minutes later.

-Aqua. NO more explanation on this one haha.

I wish I could remember more atm, but learning about subtyping in the SML language, I can't remember more.

The early pokemon game boy games only had one save, and twice in a row my brother saved over my file when I was at the end.
I thought all pokemon games had one save, even diamond and pearl?

I'm pretty sure Pearl and Diamond have one save file too. I just got Pearl, and noticed the same message "There is an existing file, are you sure?" right before saving.

Ahmio; we greatly frown upon stealing other people's content here and passing it off as your own...

Although for the most part that demo is done using drag and drop commands; so I don't think too much of it is borrowed engines

Stealing code and content is frowned upon everywhere. It can be very obvious where one stole code, believe it or not. People code and comment in very different ways (I'm quite unique with my programming style).

That's disappointing...

I played the demo and this is what I found wrong with it (please don't get discouraged):

-When you press D to continue the chat, it cuts it off entirely if I press it mid-speech. This is incredibly annoying. As much as I just want to speed through it, it should STILL show all of the text before continuing.

-I had a hard time going down the stairs. Near the end, I would go down slower.

-You might want to get a new sprite or something for Link's room. It looks a hell of a lot like he's walking ON TOP of a tree stump...when from what I remember in OoT, it's just like, a pattern of sorts near the middle.

-I FELL INTO AN INFINITE LOOP K. At least, I think it's an infinite loop. When I get the sword, I'm all like YAY sword...but I stay as YAY SWORD and can't move.

-The movement's awkward as is the screen movement...

Sorry, those were just my thoughts. I haven't "programmed" in Game Maker before, but I do know how to play a game.

Has anyone ever had a younger silbing that the memory card out when it clearly states to keep it in? Then you put it back in, only to find that all of your saves are curropted? That is my rage, happened to my gamecube with my little sister > : O.

It's all good, at least she didn't do it to my playstation's memory card, if she did, I would have lost a PERFECT (everthing) FFVII file ;-;.

Something similar happened to me, and I almost wrote about it. My friend's little brother was playing Donkey Kong 64 and took out the cartridge when the N64 was still on. ERASED ALL OF MY HARDWORK. Dumb kid.

Oracle of Ages. Dungeon #7, Jabu Jabu's belly. I was stuck: couldn't raise the water, couldn't decrease the water, couldn't go onwards (missed a key somewhere), and couldn't get out of the temple. I saved older my old file. Bad idea.

But yeah, this movie also stars Sara Brightman from Nightwish and Ogre from Skinny Puppy. If you're fans of either, you should be able to point out who is who in that trailer.

I'm sorry TKM, but Sarah Brightman's not from Nightwish. Just pointing that out. :)

Okay, I never knew this movie was coming out, but now that I do, I'm very excited. Looks spectacular! There's a guy in there who looks a bit like Dani Filth, but I know it isn't.

Other Discussion / Re: Smoking
« on: November 13, 2008, 03:43:10 pm »
Do you think it acceptable/unacceptable? Why?
Well, like many people have already said, I don't think it's unacceptable. It's up to an individual whether or not they want to take up smoking

If you smoke, do you think/worry about the risks?
I don't smoke, so this does not apply.

If you smoke, how did you start?
I don't smoke.

If you smoke, how often?
I don't smoke.

Do you know anybody who has died from a smoking-related disease?
Yes, my grandmother. She had quit 7-8 years before she found out she had emphezema/lung cancer.

Do you think the sale of cigarettes should be illegal? Why/not?
No, for obvious reasons. Alcohol is legal and is also harmful used in big doses. Yes, the diseases related to smoking are different, but alcohol also comes with its addictions and diseases and selling alcohol is legal.

If you dont smoke, do you worry about second-hand smoke?
Yes. It smells bad, makes me feel sick, and well of course would cause damage. I try not to breathe but that doesn't work out too well.

If you dont smoke, do people who smoke around you bother you?
No, not really. It's their choice. I mean, yes the smell of the smoke bothers me, but they can do whatever they want. Generally, my friends who smoke around me are courteous and tend to blow the smoke away from me.

Does that mean you're never going to drink alchohol either?  Cause y'know that can have side effect of death.

Note: I'm not saying don't drink, I'm just saying don't bash something without trying it out yourself.  Also weed > booze.

I agree with what you said. I don't know what weed feels like, so I can't automatically spew out something like BOOZE > weed (although I really do want to :P). Alcohol DOES have a side effect of death and diseases and stuff. I think anything excessively consumed is bad: coca-cola, coffee, beer, weed, cigarettes, candy...too much of anything is generally bad lol.

I welcome smoking bans

get your death smoke away from me

I welcome them as well. I still can't believe there used to be smoking sections in restaurants. Eww.

Quote
You think that's bad?  In the US, it's quickly becoming illegal to smoke almost everywhere.  In New York, they can't even smoke in bars.

I'm not a smoker and that pisses me off.

BUT THAT WOULD MAKE THE BAR STINKY!!!...sorry. I guess this is debatable. I'd rather have a non-stinky bar, thank you.

Ehh..a little late now, but thanks anyway >_>

What I posted was a use case diagram btw, different from a use case.  But it probably wasnt asking for a diagram anyway so blah xD

Yeah...it was probably looking for something like the use case I posted. Diagrams don't supply as much information as the detailed use cases. Sorry if I was a bit late.

I don't live in the States, but I can definitely say that people will eventually have the right to marriage again one day soon, especially since Governer SCHWARZENNEGAR is apparently disappointed with Proposition 8 passing or something, I don't know.

Other Discussion / Re: Use cases...
« on: November 12, 2008, 04:55:45 am »
Those are not necessarily use cases...well okay fine, they probably are, but they seem more like...okay hold on...

I'm not sure what the difference is because I'm far too lazy to look at my notes (yes, I cover use cases in my current class). However, I do know that the UML diagram you have above is not necessarily a formal definition of a use case.

A proper definition of a use case would be something like this:

Quote
4.   Register
4.1   Actors:
·   Unregistered User
·   Login Database
·   User Info Database
4.2   Goal: Successfully register into [Project Title]'s Network
4.3   Pre-Conditions:
·   Unregistered user clicked on “Register” link
4.4   Description:
·   [Project Title] displays empty registration form
·   Required fields are differentiated by a special symbol
·   Unregistered User fills in a minimum of the required fields
·   Unregistered User clicks on “Submit” button
·   [Project Title] validates submitted form and saves data to Login Database and User Info Database
·   [Project Title] indicates registration was successful
4.5   Post-Condition:
·   Newly registered user brought to their own profile page
4.6   Variations:
·   Newly registered user may optionally fill out the Compatibility Survey immediately
4.7 Exceptions:
·   Invalid/missing registration fields

I put it in quotes. Okay, so this is a pretty detailed use case, no? So my theory is that an overview use case is something like what you have in that UML diagram, where it simply lists a bunch of cases, while a detailed use case lists actors, the goal, pre-conditions, description, post-conditions, variations, and exceptions.

BTW if you want to know where that stuff came from, it's from a group project my team and I are working on. I hope it helps.
