This is just bull.

Jack Thompson is a good lawyer, he is doing a good service for gamers. Just because whiny little gamers are pissed that their manhunt: Vice City and Manhunt: San Andreas are getting banned and AO ratings,they whine about a guy who is just doing a good job in helping us gamers.

Every group of people so large is going to eventually have one murderer, it doesn't prove anything. That's like if I said "Black people like fried chicken", and then said it was true pecause I saw one black person eat fried chicken. These things are inevidable. All it would prove is that one gamer is a murderer, not all of us. Of course, Jack Thompson would never admit this. It's good to see somebody's finally doing something about him, even if it is only temporary.

Heh, this is good, I really hope he is found unfit to practice after this =D I mean really. I bet if they made a game with Barney he would find a reason to get it banned

I'd rather not have anyone telling me what I can and can not play.  Besides, it's not like video games or any other form of entertainment "made" someone do something, whether it be violent or not.  People make their own decisions.

ah, a good question, Kyubi. But here's the thing, why did people hate Rock music? Why did they hate TV, and movies?

The answer is the simple fact that parents don't want to take the blame for the behavior of their children. If your son goes off and kills a man, it can't be because of your poor parenting, it's got to be those damn video games. And who bought these kids Grand Theft Auto? Their parents of course.

The entertainment industry provides the best scapegoats for poor parenting. Rock music is loud and the lyrics are "inappropriate." Television is littered with sex and violence. In video games, you actually take control of the characters and make them kill. Do video games actually cause teenage violence? Studies so far give a big fat "no." But is it a big leap of faith, especially for people who don't play video games, to believe they do?
