I wanted to get it buy i never found the time to go to gamestop.  I heard some stuff people said about the game, for example "Cheesy Dialogue" lol, constantly shifting the wii mote to first person and what not.  I like metroid so i might get it a couple days after launch.  So what do you guys think about the game or are you planning to get it?  :)

Already got it and played a bit of it. Not gonna say much, but I do like the look and feel of it. Do I prefer older Metroids over it? Yes. I like the 3D aspect, but would rather keep it completely 2D or at least 2.5D. Don't get me wrong though, for what it is, Other M is awesome so far. Yeah dialogue from Samus is a bit boring, but at least somewhat interesting. CG looks fantastic on the Wii, even upscaled to 1080p on my monitor, and it seamlessly transitions into in-game graphics. Controls work like they should... In third person mode. First person seems like a hassle when the lock on button, and the button you hold to move your perspective are both B. That's all I've got to say for now. As of right now Other M has a 8/10 for me.

Other M kind of pisses me off. Been playing it over the past day or so.

Annoyances:
  • Sequences where you need to move with the D-pad then react while in FPS mode... Your movement stops, so it sucks when you need to move quickly.
  • Damned deathblow attacks keep !@#$% me over. You can't control it, so if you're busy fighting another enemy, this will take you away from that, move you, disorient you, and cause you to get hit a LOT more by the enemy you were trying to kill to begin with.
  • "Instant Death" sequences. Certain moments of the game will kill you if you don't do the right thing. It's annoying, and it takes skill away from the game.
  • Certain areas force samus to *walk slowly*. It breaks the pace of the game.
  • Certain areas force samus into FPS mode, where you need to view a tiny 2x2px thing on the screen precisely. You can be sitting for 10 minutes looking around getting pissed off.
Game's freakin' broken.

Also agreed, however I wouldn't call the game broken. Sure it's definitely not like the Metroids in the past, but I appreciate it for what it is. I just hate how the "walk slowly" mode seems like straight rip off from Resident Evil or Gears of War.

They tried to add an element of suspense to it that it just didn't need :P

Either way I love the game for it's story. Gameplay pisses me off but I think it's better the 2nd time around, since you can skip cinematics and you know what you're looking for in those FP sequences.

I heard it does this really bullshitty thing where Samus has all her upgrades already but she needs permission to use them. That's just weird, weirder than her losing them after every game.

Yes. Also annoying.

You don't *find* upgrades at all. If she wanted to, she could use Hyper at any time.

I don't think it is even released here. At least I haven't seen it yet. When it comes, I don't know. I don't have the time or money to buy every AAA title coming.
