Feedback / Re: AoDC gets demodded, why?
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:35:36 am »

This is not a forum for everyone being global moderators or for there to be drama. This is a forum for game development.

Actually its a forum for whatever the !@#$% the users want being that, if you had no users youd have no forum. Have fun kiddies.
Though harsh, it is the truth.  If you have no members here, then you have no web forum /debate
Which brings up the point: why haven't those that dislike the forum in it's current state left?

The last time I posted before today and yesterday (and only because tigsource is kinda slow this week) was a long time ago. Why permanently leave when I can temporarily stay and try to enjoy my time?

3d ripper = fail for n64 stuff

Trust me.  I've tried every fricken emulator, DX plugin, etc .  3d Ripper DX doesn't grab anything from n64 emulators.

I mean I guess I could "obtain" the Master Quest disc and rip from there with GC emulators.

Direct64 video plugin for any freakin' n64 emulator + 3d ripper = yay it works. I have proof and experience so quit whining and "Just Do It" like nike.

Thanks :D, I'm not too good at 3D stuff though. I can upload it for someone else to give it a try, if I can figure out where the file is ;^.^

I used to do some crappy low poly gb houses...mainly pokemon. But ill take a stab at some gb trees for it.

If you REALLY can't rip them yourself I guess ill upload it but its not necessary when you can simply rip em.

How the hell do you EFFECTIVELY rip n64 models?  I've tried !@#$% 20 different ways I've seen on the net.

If you do have them and you post them, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd use them.

3d Ripper DX.
Can you dig it?
These are DIRECT rips. No changes. I spose ill post link in a bit since people cant use 3dripper for some reason.

Looks awesome :D. You should import it into a 3d program like maya or 3ds and create the trees/houses. If youre not good you could ask a zfgcer to do it. Would be neat to see toronbo in 3d.

Gameboy Color.

Had one at Gamecrazy which was strange. I paid a whole $10 for it.
I then went to another game store that still carried GB games and picked up Mario Land and Final Fantasy Legend III.

I love.  Takes me back if you know what I mean.  Now, I'm just waiting for a regular old Gameboy to come in at a gamestore(we have an indie game store which still carries everything..even atari).  It'd be $5 for that.  I probably won't play them much but I like to collect older gaming stuff so I thought it was a nice find.

Any recommendations?

I'm thinking of picking up these games( * means the store didn't have it ):
Wario Land 2
Mario Land 2
Wario Land - Mario Land 3
Kirby's Deam Land
Pokemon Gold (Never played an old GB Pokemon before)
Castlevania Adventures
Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge
Final Fantasy Legend
Final Fantasy Legend II
* Final Fantasy Adventure *
* Link's Awakening * not DX

Any other recommends?
He only had one original Megaman game for Game boy and that was the first one :(

Gamecrazy? You live in California? Neato. Yeah I love FFA, but you should pick up Mario 6 Golden Coins, awesome game.

I really like the house a lot, and they're all pretty good; but dude, texture them!  These would look heaps better textured.

What are you modeling in?

I really really need to learn to texture, I get confused every time I try to learn. I model in Wings3d and Maya. Im alright in both.

Thanks for the crit :3 The house/shop actually needs to be mostly redone, I didnt think id be using it in a game so I just made a really crappy "not to code" model. Ah well its still fun :3

Pretty awesome stuff, Pedlya! although I dunno if I'd call the triforce or that house "low-poly" ;) Low poly stuff dances between 300 and 500 triangles. Awesome nonetheless!

Yeah I only said low poly galore because im going to edit the original with more stuff im making all of it low poly :3

This is really fun to play. The only complaint I have is that you use the <shift> key for an action like jump. I continuously get the sticky key notice from windows through the game and that destroys the fun and the ranking. I got an E ranking because of it. My advice is to avoid keys that give sticky key notices. Just use <space> to jump or something.

Turn sticky keys off.

Uhm...That was !@#$% awesome? Seriously dude amazing job. A wario fangame is what ive really wanted :D I got B rank but I can do better haha. The only thing even remotly wrong with this is that when im walking you can see small glitches where a small triangle appears on the ground, could be my graphics card whatnot. For what this is 10/10.

Waterworld
Outlaw
Rise of the Footsoldier.

I'm assuming this post is a joke.
Why?

It's just that, Waterworld is neither good nor little-known. And a quick search made the others seem less-than-promising.

Granted, I only know one of those films, but the others don't seem to be very good. I'd be willing to be proven wrong though.

I will never have respect for you, for as long as I live.
