GM6 variable troulbe HELP!!!
« on: August 22, 2006, 08:59:52 am »
hey everyone, everytime i run my game i get this error:

"FATAL ERROR in
action number 2
of Create event
for object objload:

COMPILATION ERROR in code action
Error in code at line 8:

  "global.itemowned = 3;"

at position 4: Variable name expected."

OK so normally I thought that I could have name something the same thing or something like that but I hadn't. Then I was messing with it and changed global.itemowned with a different variable on the next line. Then it came up with the same error but for the new variable in the same position. Can anyone help?

Usually (I think) this kind of error is due to a syntax error in the line before.
So check the line before :).

Seeing surrounding code would help.

Why is "global.itemowned = 3" in quotation marks?

Also, do you have any other resources or variables named global.itemowned?

OK I fixed it... I took away the brackets. So it was an error in the line before... I make sure before I posted to check whether i named anything else itemowned. Thanks
