So I've been wanting to get into C# for a while now, but haven't put much effort into it. I really wanna start using XNA and mess around with it quite a bit. Is there any good websites or tutorials someone could link me to so I could get familiar with it? Or tell me how some of you guys started to learn it and lead me in the right direction.

How much programming experience do you have?  It's an easy language to pick up if you've programmed with Java or C/C++ before.  Take a look here:

How much programming experience do you have?

I have almost 3 years worth with GML and about 1 1/2 years with C++.

I have a book covering XNA 2.0 and XNA 3.0

I have one covering 3.0 as well, haven't looked into it much though.

But really though, I want to understand the syntax and how it works more so than "this function does blahblah" in XNA. I just wanna learn straight up C# before diving into XNA.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding is that C# is like one step up from Basic? It seems the syntax is similar to me, but with some differences. I have a friend who took the Visual Basic course at school last semester, so I may drag him along with me on this journey as well.

They were free, when participating with some Microsoft event. But I find it that it isn't the language itself that is the problem. It are the API's and support libraries, that need to be learned. A book covers most of the basic support functions and all that and you go through it in a few days (I'm dyslectic so I read slow). Then you can focus on the more advanced stuff.

C# is...as if C++ and Java had sex.  The syntax is fairly similar to both languages, but nothing like VB.  You honestly can learn both C# and xna at the same time, that's actually what my university does in the junior year.
