LA and LTTP are the best 2D ones.

TP is not the best 3D one. Too easy, didn't live up to the hype, good game but could have been much better.

I don't think it could have been better. It had the biggest overworld, huge dungeons (and 9 of them), lots of items. I just think it was too similar to oot.

I personally think it goes oot > mm > tp > ph > ww. I never really like LTTP that much, also.

I tried to finish LA so many times, but some time between always lost interest. Don't know why. It's a brilliant game, nonetheless.

What about the first one? That was a masterpiece
I've always found it pretty dull.

My favorite 3D Zelda fluctuates with my mood. My favorite 2D Zelda has to be Oracle of Ages. It was what got me into the series, and it was flippin' amazing.

The two Oracles games were each good in their own ways, but the problem was that OoA was completely puzzle based and OoS was completely fighting based, and neither had enough of the opposite. ;___; Links Awakening wins the world.

Twilight Princess's overworld floored me with its immensity, and the fighting system improved on what I thought was lacking in OOT and MM. It was ridiculously leet.

Best thing about LA? The select-button glitch. And bomb arrows.

I'll stand proud with Wind Waker.

The way I see it:

TWW = OoT = MM > TP

Even though most Zelda games are the same, I find it hard to choose between them. TP was just a little worse than the other three, but TP is also my second favourite... so, yeah.

As for the top-down games:

TMC > PH > LA > ALttP > ...etc.

The Minish Cap is awesome. Phantom Hourglass is great too, and LA is good. I just couldn't see the magic in LA the way I saw it in the other games.

Out of the games I've played enough to actually rank here:

OoT>MM>TWW>LttP>TP.

But again, I've never played a Zelda game I didn't enjoy.

OBJECTION! THIS EVIDENCE CLEARLY REVEALS THE CONTRADICTION IN THAT STATEMENT!
TWW >> MM >>>>>> TMC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OoT >> PH(haven't been able to play too much of it though) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TP >> OoS >> FSA > LA >>> AoL > LoZ >>>>>>>> ALttP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OoA
Wrong.
TP > OoT > TWW > MM
That's more like it :)

O_o

No. Of those four...

TWW > OoT > MM > TP

TP was good. But compared to others it was nothing.

I loved LA.

I've beaten it at least 6 times.

I've always found it's ending to be far more touching than every other zelda game.

It's the only one with a really effective bitter-sweet emotional ending. Every other ending is happy.

Also to anyone who has beaten both LA and PH, do you think that there is a connection? Both endings had certain concrete similarities that made me jump up and down like a school girl who just found out she isn't pregnant.

Also I will admit that I've cried a couple of times during the ending of LA (I've never cried from an emotional involvement to any other game).

LA and PH connection... I noticed it too. But I think it's just going to be a recurring theme. :/

Yeah, both games do have similarities. O_O I too jumped up and down like "WTF".

I must've beaten LA like 10 times... :P I was really crazy over it.

i must be the only one who didn't like LA... i played the color'd version and i would get bored of it at times and have to take breaks... and when i saw that ending for the first time i thought "wow... what a waste"
the PH ending wasn't as bad.... but the bulk of the story was SOOOO lacking depth...

But I'm not even sure which is the best... OoT was a logical retry at aLttP, MM was a good sequel.... WW was fun but sailing ruins it for replay and I cannot understand how the triforce shattered... its all powerful... MC was my favorite of the gameboys

maybe OoT? I did play that one the most, I was able to walk my friend through the fire temple over the phone without using any guides haha i just asked him to describe the rooms and tell me where the doors were, it was nuts, i didn't even know i had that much recollection

I say Links awakening was the better of the two, but I may be a bit biased. It was, after all, my first Zelda.

Come on guys, we all have our memories for Ocarina of Time. How many of you remember the months of drooling over screenshots, leading up to that fateful Christmas morning in '98 when you opened the box and there it was, in all its shining glory? What about going online and finding pages and PAGES of glitches, cheats, and other ways to circumvent what the designers wanted you to do? The bottle/sword trick? Sinking lure? What about the Gameshark? If you activate the cheat that lets you levitate by pressing L, there's a multitude of things you can do that can keep you occupied with the game for twice as long. Beating the Shadow Temple as young Link and getting the medallion anyway (Bongo Bongo is also more of a challenge), flying up above the Pedestal of Time and letting your stomach churn as you fall back down, floating through the window that Zelda looks into at the courtyard, and don't even get me started on Ganon's Tower.

Forget all you guys. OOT wins on pure nostalgia.

I got OoT only because I couldn't find Super Mario 64.  And I debated on getting Conker until my dad and I noticed the rating.
And after finally getting SM64 on the VC, SM64 has proven itself to be a lot more fun.

EDIT:  I'm glad I knew nothing much about the game, though.  The hype ruined TP for me.

It was obvious that you grew up in the N64 era.

LTTP was much more nostalgic.
