Metriod is set in the future so maybe by some bizzare reason the sun in inhabitable.
Its a kinda cool idea, needs work though.

Or maybe Eater is just crazy. In order to even get near the sun it would need to be 100s of times cooler. And if it was than life on surrounding planets would die from the cold. It makes no sense at all. >_>
