You guys have probably noticed I haven't been here in a while, over 2 months I believe.. before I get into it, I want to thank those who sent me happy birthday PMs I was rather surprised to see the dozen or so PMs waiting for me weren't all sprite requests :)



So, "Twinsen" eh? you may remember it from this old thread

Since that old demo, Cocopuffs and I have been hard at work improving the game, some things have changed significantly, some things haven't.
We've almost finished the second demo, if things continue going smoothly, it will hopefully be ready in a week or so.

It doesn't show much, so here are some screenshots too:



You may notice some screenshots have a red dot up in the top right corner, thats because Cocopuffs put in a nifty little function to record the gameplay:


This is just back from when we were testing the combo system :P
So yeah, we should hopefully have the demo ready in a week or so, I have been blogging Twinsen's progress daily if you'd like to follow it.

I will continue to be absent from these forums, I'll probably only ever return just for Twinsen related news.

Aw, I was gunna say "FIRST ZOMG!" but you beat me to it.   :'(
Well that woulda been kinda noobish, so lets just get all professional now.

Looks great :D!  Looks like some team of professionals made it.  It looks like one of those platformers for the DS, like the 2D ones obviously, but the GBA and DS are always getting platformers made in that style.  Yeah thats a good thing too.

Looking really good glad to hear its still progressing and all :D.

Edit: Love the use of parallax like effects with the new backgrounds and foregrounds, unless I missed you adding those ages ago. I guess this is a change made with the story change as now backgrounds and foregrounds will make sense?

Rap music really doesn't work for a platform game, but other than that I must say that trailer looks sweet. Keep it up!

Damn mate, looking better than ever. It's unusual that a gamemaker-game has both great graphics and very smooth and stable gameplay.
Twinsen just seems to have everything that sidescroller-lovers would want.
Great work guys, we'll be definetely hearing from this project.
Oh, and happy birthday dude, although maybe a little late. I never understand to check when everyones birthday is :P.

The "speedrun" doesnt show much, but it shows that the developers are the best players for their own games ;P

This looks amazing Takam, even better then before. I love the way you did the graphics, and how everything reacts in the background. It looks really pretty and professional. Ill definitely keep track of this project.

It's probably the best thing to be on these forums.

Looking nice man, I really like the rocks/grass passing bye at the front of the screen.  Is it still supposed to be a "tv show" like format?

EDIT:  What app was that made in?  I finally got an R4, so I should be able to use it now ;)
