It's about time a woman was actually in the race...

Besides, she can't be any worse than Bush, can she? :P

I know, right?

I was like "Oh my god, this is a better policy than anything the last president ever proposed."

Hell, it's by far and away better than anything McCain's ever said.

Agreed. If I hear any more "Offshore drilling alone will solve our problems" I'll about cry... and its more pathetic that a good chunk of the US agrees with McCain on that...

Because, of course, off-shore drilling will last forever and ever, and even if climate change doesn't exist, we'll never have to switch away from oil... =D

I saw this last night, I thought it was pretty amusing. And the proposal for energy saving was actually pretty smart. :P

The reason that smear tactics and dumb ideas work is that a large chunk of Americans ignorant and stupid; Republicans notice this and they use it to their advantage well, really no matter how you sugar-coat it, that is how it is.  If what Paris Hilton did blows your mind and not your penis, then what is even more mind-blowing is that she was able to read at all considering how her last "book" was mostly pictures and there have been reports that she is essentially illiterate.  It is also sadder that it took people to see Leno to observe this video considering it was on the Internet earlier, but meh.  It;s sadder that the McCain campaign responded to the Paris Hilton video.

Even if Paris is illiterate, she's not doing any worse than GWB. The dude fluffed loads of scripted speeches, because of his inability to read.

lol I don't disagree with your assessment of his intelligence - what is pathetic is that he managed to get voted for by a lot of people and elected twice regardless of whether the first one was really a win which technically it was.  It's funny actually, I admire that Paris was able to turn the nothingness of her celebrity into something that made her money on her own even if it ended up in her being cut out of her family's inheritance.  Bush just has Cheney, Rove, and by some degree Addington giving him direction, Paris at least made well on what she was dealt and made a living by herself.  I actually liked the video, >.<, I should have said that sooner, lol.

XD Except her idea is just as fundamentally flawed as off-shore drilling AND hybrid cars :P

It's what, like 10 years to set up a well for off-shore drilling? And hybrid cars are expensive :P using both would never solve the energy crisis, because the offshore oil will take ages, and the blue collar workforce wouldn't be able to buy the cars XD

If the purchasing of such cars was given government incentive, then they would not be as expensive.  It is unrealistic to expect any plan to be smooth as silk though and both plans are going to pander to the public's need of not wanting to make a sacrifice (the lack of anyone telling anyone to conserve or to change their habits) and adaptation will only really apply after the new technology is implemented (putting up wind power and solar takes some time, and the infrastructure itself has to be established well).
