I was just wondering what type of gamepads people here have (or don't have) for their PCs. I think it could be useful for developers in designing controls for more than their own setup.

Personally I have a microsoft joystick, an old sidewinder (pic) that has a pad but to get input you use the x/y axes, and a fancy logitech that is essentially a ps2 controller and you use POV-hat inputs for the pad.

360 controller and an old Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital joystick...lol

Tell you what, though, my best game pad was when I used my PS3 controller up as a game pad.

I really don't use them anymore though.  I stick with the keyboard and mouse :p

A standard Logitech Dual Action game pad. I like anything Logitech, really.

It looks like a PS2 controller. Dual clickable-analog sticks, d-pad (which is kind of a clicky analog stick unless mine is just coming a-loose., the four face buttons, start, select, mode (turbo?), r1, r2, l1, and l2.

Saitek P2500. It's great. Except for the fact that sometimes the input gets stuck (sometimes I'd be walking in a direction after I stop, and I need to hit another button on the pad to undo that), I have no complaints... except for the software, it stopped working so now I'm forced to use Joy2Key. It uses POV switches for the dpad, x/y axis for the left stick and z/rudder axis for the right stick. Otherwise it's just like a playstation controller, even with the clickable joystick buttons. I also have a rumble pad also from Saitek, but I don't use that as much because it has one shoulder button per side.

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

360 controller for the win‼

I also have an N64 controller with a USB adapter, but I don't use it anymore because the analogue stick is pretty worn.

Wired 360, always nice to be able to switch it between Xbox and PC and the XBCD drivers are pretty damn good.

If only play and charge cables worked too. :/

Same :P. Only thing I don't really like about it is the holes under the analog sticks are square, makes it hard to move in the direction you want.

I don't have a gamepad but if I'm gonna buy one, it sure will be a 360 controller.
