Particularly at 5:00. I guess. It's my current background music and I'm at around that part.

I'm paraphrasing what was just said:

This is an open effort. Anyone can help out in whatever way they can, and they'll really appreciate any help. You can talk to anyone working on this in the IRC channel. Also, the stuff they're doing is in a Github repo at https://github.com/gm112/ZFGC3.

Strangely, that last post put me in the mood to listen to this:

Infected Mushroom - Franks
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMIQsvuOwXc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMIQsvuOwXc</a>

Except for their first few and latest album, they've done a combination of psytrance mixed with metal.
(Their first few albums are pure psytrance, their latest album is an attempt at mixing in the mainstream dubstep style that didn't go so well in my opinion.)

More of you lurkers should join IRC. We're having fun figuring out how to connect to a server and slapping each other with random objects.

I hoped for some more activity on IRC (which is why I set up the camera), but it was fun to watch regardless.

Haha... seems a lot of ZFGCers have similar tastes in music.
It gives me an idea to start a Last.fm group for ZFGC, just to see what people from here like as a whole. I have no idea how many people here use Last.fm, though...

Eh, I ended up not liking Red Extensions of Me. Could be because of all the treble which I'm really sensitive to for some reason. It was literally painful to listen to. Has some good songs, but they hurt my ears.

The first 35 seconds of this easily get in my head. There's something about that small bit of sound that I really, really like.

Devil May Cry.

Which game? I've never been a fan of the series in general but I know someone who's played through most of the games and has told me her opinion on them.

++++++++++++ many points for you! flashbulb is freakin AMAZING
Yeah, I've actually listened to his music for some time. Thought of looking for more, but I've been putting off looking for new music of his to listen to for so long. When I finally started searching, I ended up liking a lot of what he's done.

Related: One of the first songs of his I've listened to and one of my favorites.

Got a new album and I've been obsessed with one of its songs.

There's actually another song that comes before it that leads into the song I'm obsessed with at the moment. Without the first song, the second song just sounds incomplete, or like it got started too quickly. Whoever submitted this video felt the same way and put the two together.

Nice find! It kept me busy for a while (by helping me procrastinate >_>) and I liked the overall style of it, even if it did seem dramatic at times.

Entertainment / Re: Metro 2033 Developers say the Wii U CPU is too slow.
« on: November 21, 2012, 06:56:10 am »
I'm not knowledgeable about any of this, but I did see a discussion on Reddit that I paid attention to. Overall, the thread was full of the same stuff mentioned here: Metro 2033 was a poorly optimized game to begin with, so it's hard to take them seriously.

Some other info I picked up was that the CPU and memory latency may be a problem for some developers, but it's made up by the fact that all its parts seem to "play nice" with each other.

Overall, this comment stood out for me:
Quote
On the one hand, you have developers of cross platform games saying the cpu is a little slower than they are used to, or expecting. On the other hand, you have single-platform developers saying all the components play nice with each other.
...
A cross-platform developer wants to do as little work as possible when porting their game, so they want the platform to be similar to what they developed the engine for. Yes, the memory latency may not be ideal but they designed the engine around the limitations. The Wii U may make up for the slow cpu in other areas, but taking of advantage of it may require rewriting a lot of the engine, which some devs may not want to do.

This sounds really familiar. Would it happen to be the same method that was used for this?

Nearly half of all my posts are in this thread. So close.

Also, here's a 90s song.
