Feedback / I don't like the REQUIRED completed projects upload.
« on: February 10, 2008, 07:50:53 am »
Ok, uhh... I'll admit, at first I thought it was a pretty cool idea.
But, it just isn't practical.

See, I tried to add my SSB:NES to the completed projects, uhh, "list".
But there's a problem. This form that you fill out requires and allows only ONE download.
What about my two support versions? One game ver. runs only on windows XP or older, and one is Vista compatible.
And I'm not saying you should change the whole system simply because of my one game, but I'm sure this will cause people much hassle and grief in the future with other project too...

And I'm always updating my game, with newly discovered bug fixes, and new "content packs" with more characters and stages. But if I have an upload on here, people who discover it and download from here will always be playing the old version, and not the new. That's why wherever I posted the game, I always just linked to http://www.ssbnes.com/ rather than posting a direct download, so people could just go to my site and get the latest version.

So when uploading my game to here, I just put the file's weblink as a link to my homepage, no idea how that'll work out. XD

Entertainment / Guitar Hero Custom-ness! =D

Show off your sticker layout, paint job, or just completely custom guitars!
I was gonna say for GH3... But who cares, show off your GH1 and 2 guitars also if you have 'em. :P

Here's mine, as you can see, I added stickers to the neck also.

Entertainment / Manhunt 2 is a failure.
« on: November 02, 2007, 03:51:47 pm »
What a buggy piece of !@#$%.

They obviously were too distracted and stressed with all of the censorship fuss over the !@#$% game to properly test for bugs and fix them. >_<

I was planing on buying this game today too, good thing I checked it out at my friends place yesterday first.

The game is soooo un-polished, it's not even funny. It's pathetic.
You can't even walk a straight line without your character glitching out and twitching left and right.
Trying to pick up a gun or body can sometimes be hell, and enemies can punch you by facing in the completely opposite direction and punching air.
They also can punch you if you're standing up on a platform that's about 3 feet over thier heads. They just swing at the wall and end up hitting you, who is not even on the same level as them. >_<

And besides all of that, there's also the fact that half of the time enemies get stuck in walls or disapear completely(kinda looks like they fall into the floor. >_> ) only to suddenly be behind you.

This game was completely killed because of !@#$% nedneck soccer moms, and people like Jack motherfucking Tompson.
It's not just the fact that it's censored all to hell, I honestly think the kill filters make the game more "artistic" and it adds a freakier atmosphere to the game.
But even uncensored, this game is still no more violent than the average horror movie.
Why should game violence be tonned down so much compared to movies??

So !@#$% this game. It should be a 10/10, but it's a bug-filled mess that's missing half of the content it was to originally have. Basically they built a game, then ripped apart at it until it was much lesser than it's original form.

I give it a 4/10

Oh, btw... After I'm done my current projects, I plan on making a game that can be humbly called the most violent video game ever. Jack Tompson can suck on these nutz.

Audio / Bass Thumper Test
« on: November 01, 2007, 05:19:17 pm »
Yea, I just got a new 530 watt Sony sound system a couple weeks ago, so I wanted to make something to test out some extreme bass-y sounds on my 20" subs. So I made this.

http://ssbnes.cericcproductions.com/files/BassThumperTest.mp3

Kinda sounds like some kinda techno. O_o XD

Even if you have a shity sound system, test it out. Or just use your computer speakers. lol
Whatcha think?

(yea, I added random quotes for the hell of it. XD)

A friend asked me to color this for her, so I did.
It took longer than you may think, since it was on lined paper. >_<
Removing those lines sucks.

What version is better, not shaded or shaded?

Entertainment / What the !@#$% is wrong with kids these days?
« on: October 24, 2007, 04:51:52 am »
Ok, incase you don't watch any music vid channels such as MTV/Much Music, and you just happen to not hang around any of the retards who like this !@#$%, this !@#$% song/dance is sweeping teenagers everywhere.

"Crank That" by "Solja Boy"...... >_>

Before you read further, watch at least 20 seconds of this vid.
I know it's painful, but just do so for the greater good of... research? o_O

Link:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vum3qgoh0x4

WTF is he saying?
"SOLJA BOI NOW WHY ME YOU!!! CRAN DAA SOLLA BOI OHHHH CRAN DAA SOLLA BOI OHHHH OHHHHhhhh DA SUPAH MAIN DAA OHHHHH." (repeat 10,000x)

95% of new !@#$% rap is that "krunk/dirty south" !@#$%, where they just come up with some retarded ass term, fad, or setence and repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over.

Not to mention that they're not even doing anything CLOSE to a real "dance", yet this "dance" and "song" has ladies jumping out of thier panties, and dudes wanting to imitate them.

It's complete crap rap, and it puts a bad image of rap to the public eye.
(both because it's all gangsta !@#$% and the fact that it sucks sooo bad)

And to top if all off, all of these rappers have a !@#$% thicker hick accent than a whitebread Texas redneck. It's annoying as !@#$%, and I just had to get this off my chest.

I just stumbled upon this, damn, I want it.
http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=17115&cat=310&page=1

There are many others too, as you can see if you scroll down.
The only thing stopping me from getting this is it'll more than likely ruin the Wii's warranty. >_<

Other Projects / Meta World
« on: October 23, 2007, 07:44:53 pm »
This is a game I just recently found again, I was working on it back in early-2005.
I've never touched it since, and will probably never finish it, but I'd just like to show it so that SOMEONE will at least see it.

Screenies:

The whole concept of this game is just basically to create a whole world complete with landscape, people, buildings, activity, and even it's own religion. I choose the oldschool graphics because they have a sort of surreal style/nature to them.

The game is 2player, but in a sense like Animal crossing on the GCN was.
On the title screen you choose your character, each one has it's own complete "file". So two people can play it, but it must be done in turns. Basically just whenever one person isn't around to play, the other person does instead. And each player can come back and play in the same world so they get to see what the other player has done, changed, or destroyed. :P

There's no real goal, and the A.I.(people, at least) doesn't move around at all, but they would in the final version, if there ever was to be one. You can earn gold by doing jobs, you can find bags of gold laying around once in awhile, and there's some other ways to make gold also.

Download:
http://ssbnes.cericcproductions.com/files/MetaWorld0.5.zip

Controls:
Move with arrow keys, interact with Z key, press F1 to save and quit, press Esc. to just quit.
(you MUST save and quit to save all of your progress, otherwise it'll be like you never even played!)

Other Discussion / Auxiliary to headset plug converter?
« on: October 22, 2007, 06:26:14 pm »
Ok, so basically I'm wondering if this converter even exists, and if so, what exactly it'd be called?

I need to take the two left/right video game sound plugs, convert them into a headset sized cord+plug so that it can plug into my stereo's "Audio In" plug, so I can hear the video game through the stereo's kickass sound system.

I sloppily photoshopped this pic just show show what it'd look like, and it help explain WTF I'm asking for. XD

Entertainment / The Darkness, for 360
« on: October 14, 2007, 03:59:17 am »
Has anyone ever played this game?
I rented it one weekend while staying at my cuzin's house. (who has a 360, I don't)

And I have to say, it's FPS engine isn't perfect, but I'd definitly give this game a 9/10.
For it's storyline/character developement alone.

I heard the story was written by some guys who've written award winning novels, but I can't confirm this.
Anyway, it's good points:

  • Best storyline and delevery of it I've ever seen in a video game, PERIOD.
  • At least within the top 3 games with best graphics on the 360
  • Lots of in-game details, and bonus features. (such as FULL episodes of old black and white cartoons and TV shows that you can watch on various TV throughout the game. There's even two movies you can watch!!)
  • Great voice acting(the voice of the darkness is actually skin tingling/scarey and NOT corny like most evil voice acting these days)
  • The in-game options are endless, there's probably multiple endings too.
  • A well-done free-roam for the first time in an FPS
  • Really dark plot and settings that are truely "!@#$% up".

Only real bad point is it's multiplayer sucked.

So enough of my rant, anyone else play this hellofa game?

P.S.: I didn't have time to beat the game while I had it rented, but I'm buying a 360 JUST FOR THIS GAME.

Other Discussion / HELP!! Stupid windows Live...
« on: September 13, 2007, 04:41:27 am »
Ok, so I go to log into my good old MSN 7.0 today. XD But it finally says "there's a newer version now you must download to continue". So !@#$% it, I downloaded live messenger.

But now when I go to log into live, no matter what password I put it, when I hit the "sign-in" button, it CHANGES my password to some 8-digit pass. Then it gives an error, says wrong password, and tells me to enter it again.  >:(

But every !@#$% time I put my pass in, it changes it to some 8 digit !@#$% smoker password.
And my real pass is like 11 digits.

What the hell is going on?? I heard Windows Live sucked balls, but DAAAAMN...
You think it'd at least let me sign in.

Well, it's not that new anymore. I'm a little late mentioning this.

But look:

The imageshack logo and general site graphics all looks like some n00b got ahold of photoshop.

It used to be much cleaner and professional. What happened? O_o

Recruitment / Need someone to be my temp web host...
« on: July 19, 2007, 03:25:39 am »
I'm needing someone to host my updates page for a project I'm working on...
It'll be temporary, all I ask for is a sub-domain, meaning "mypage.yoursite.com", with FTP access.

I can't really say much about the project other than I've been working on it for over two months steady... And fans of the Super Smash Brothers series will enjoy it.
I can honestly say this is the best work I've ever done in my history of game making.
This project has been very tight-lipped, and the only members who go here that actually know about it are Bri and "Zidane" or whatever the !@#$% he goes by here... lmao

So yea, if you wanna host his for me, for... I dunno how long. Could be 2 days, could be 2 months.
Let me know.

Oh, and one last thing... It's gonna generate a lot of traffic. I hope your host is a good one.
This game's got hype from 1,000's of people who don't even know that it exists yet. haha

Entertainment / PERFECT DARK DS!!! JUST FRIGGIN PLAYED IT!!! :D
« on: July 01, 2006, 08:46:08 pm »
My friend brought this over today, he won't tell me where he got it from... >_>
It's sooo awsome. The stylus controls are smooth.

(My friend took the pic, I was playing, I yanked my hand away just in time for the pic. :P)

The top screen shows everything the 64 version did pretty much. Except when you get hurt your HP shows up temp on the bottom screen, then fades away.

You pretty much walk around looking on the top screen (so you can see what you're doing!) then jurk your eyes to the bottom screen to make your shots once an enemy's spotted. People show up down there with target boxes around them. Enemies are green, peds or co-ops are purple.

You touch the bottom screen to shoot, that's what that blue crosshair thing is on the bottom screen.

lmfao That's all I can say...

I want to have GM take a screenshot of the game window (in-game, of course) and save it as an encrypted image so windows cannot view it. But then be able to open it back up with GM at a later date.

And ideas?
