That's the whole !@#$% point was to make an atmosphere that made you rely on your wits and try to survive instead of pumping everything full of shotgun shells.

RE4 was a great game in and of itself, but it was just another dumb action romp.

Resident Evil has always been a "meh" series for me....just never been able to get into one of the games.

Agreed. It takes ages in that game to get a gun, meaning you have to sneak for ages, and then when you finally get a gun if you try and go postal on your enemies, you are still !@#$%

It means you have to rely on your wits and sneaking skills, and not your trigger finger, and is an amazing game as a result

Holy !@#$% Fissure, you and I see eye to eye completely on this O_O;;

I've been telling Swiftu for like... a year now... that Resident Evil is horribly outdated, and it has shitty game mechanics... and that it has no business being remade over and over again due to these shitty mechanics.

The idea of *find item* *open door* *run back* *find item* *open door* *AHH A ZOMBIE* *open door* *find key* *open locked door* !@#$% with really horrible "item get" screens just pisses me off. This !@#$% has been old since Alone in the Dark came out in the DOS days.

RE4 IS the only good RE game. RE5 is following in its footsteps thankfully.

Only thing good to come out of "pre RE4" RE games were the movies.
