"Princess K!" is the engine baby of Link Quest set up as a single-screen level progression game similar to Bubble Bobble and Mario Bros~
Overall idea is to have around 100 levels and heavy emphasis on multiplayer and certain level hazards to avoid while popping enemies. Multiplayer and controller support has been removed from this demo due to lack of testing, but that's definitely the focus~
I have the demo located publicly at my Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/creation?hid=1081671&rf=283568

Super cool! I got to say, I really enjoyed your game Link Quest. This has probably been asked before (and if so, I'm sorry) but what language/framework did you write your game in?
-
Simple ol' Game Maker Studio :P

Added a ton of new content and mechanics and decided to change up how the game's gonna play out. Less single-screen Bubble Bobble style, more level-to-level Kirby/Yoshi's Island vibe.

Been revamping this game as mentioned above. Mockup!
Working with more overlays; still using the NES palette, but doing things the NES couldn't have done.

This is looking fantastic, man

Sankyuu!
I'm working on the new engine and stuff today. Making things poppy and fun~

looking good! :D

Taking Princess K in a new direction! I know that mockup I made was promising, but that style is very very time consuming to create. I scaled it back to a much simpler design.

i like it. i kept mixing up jump and attack though lol.

Haha yeah, I need to write controller support and custom key support. Should be easy enough to do.
I'm also going to go back to the original spec Princess K sprites. I'll just keep the BG's and enemies more simplistic.

Updated the demo to have Princess K's proper graphics, and a new debug weapon~

This is really cool!! It's looking very good :D
The sprites, enemies, and level design in the last two demos (Princess K's sprites aside) remind me a lot of Metroid.

Thanks! I'm trying to draw as much inspiration from games like Metroid, Kirby, and Mario I can to make a poppy fluid experience. There are a lot of planned mechanics that should keep it pretty fun as you progress >:D

Looking good, tried the demo, it reminds me of Metroid. I tried the engine demo, will the final game have player health?
