Now in Alberta they're gonna surpass 1.50$ per litre.

Man that's retarded.

Most people here are going to be too lazy to convert to the Canadian dollar or switch to the metric system if they are American, myself included, but it is not really "retarded" as the price is going to go up due to increased demands from China and India.  Be happy that Canada at least has the oil sands.

1.50/litre is like 5$/gallon or around that much.

It's hovering at the just-below-$4 mark here, constantly fluctuating from $3.83 to $3.97 per gallon, usually changing each day. It's frustrating >_>

You do realize $1 CAD is .99295 US dollars right now? That's not really much of a conversion. Also for quick reference there is about 4 litres (3.785 but meh) to a gallon.

In Sweden:

14 Swedish Krona  =  2.34359 US Dollar  =  2.36806 Canadian Dollar / per litre.

Oh stop whining, we pay $9+ a gallon or something here...since half of our gas price is tax.

1. Seriously, if all of you Americans actually wanted to invade iraq/middle east you get get Gas for around $0.10 a litre, but no, you have to think about what's right or wrong.

2. I've met a guy who has changed his car so that all of the grease and what not from fish&chip stores and fast food places is an alternative for petrol, so he gets free fuel.

1. It wouldn't be free, it'd just be less expensive.
2. It only works on diesel engines, so it wouldn't be an alternative to petrol.

Just wondering, if any of you drive, what kind of car do you drive? Thankfully I have a rather small 2.0 liter Cavalier that gets great gas mileage; my mom drives a Plymouth Voyager van (necessary for hauling supplies, since she's a teacher), and gas about kills her, even just for trips around town.

One thing Europe has that I wish America had is a large and effective system of trains for transportation.

Yikes! Does she use premium or what? I have a surprisingly big tank in this car, and $40 gets me to F.

1. Well that depends, most fast food companies are throwing out the oil anyways so they will give you that for free. The only other thing would be the equipment and then the small amount of diesel required to start the car and then it is effectively "free" for the user.
2. Well, it's alternative to petrol in the same way buying a diesel vehicle is an alternative to a petrol vehicle

I suggest we use the motion of people rofling as a means for powering our infrastructure, people seem to do that enough. Think of all the energy we could harness from people rolling around on the floor =O

:D I've got my Mercury Villager, costs me $60 to fill up, but I can drive forever on that

Tested- I can drive from one end of the state to the other, and back again on a full tank. (took half a tank to get from Muskegon to here)

It also tends to eat away, crud up, and corrode diesel engines from the inside out :P
