Oh man, I just saw it last night. Mind = Blown
The plot was OK, nothing mindblowingly new and sometimes predictable, but I liked it. The thing that really sold me were the creature designs though. By far the most original and spectacular creature designs I've seen since the first Alien.

Oh, how could I have forgotten the Evony. Jesus those were horrible. When they started saying "play now discretely/secretly" they failed on an astronomical scale.

These. Every time I drive by one of these billboards I rage. What the hell is that !@#$%? I always get pissed off when advertizers use sex appeal to sell their product instead of their actual product, but this one  was the worst. I mean, what the hell is this? Is it supposed to be some sort of lesbian !@#$%? Oh, yeah, Remy Martin has a secret magical alchohol that makes dumb sluts at parties randomly pull out chains (wtf) and do BDSM in front of you. What the !@#$%.

I hope that !@#$% isn't in the sountrack.

Slug. Nobody has flow like Slug, and I haven't listened to a single Atmosphere album that has disappointed.

Usual Hoffy quality. By the way, do you write for a site?

I too suspected the Death Note. Cardiac arrest? Well known faces and names? It must be Kira.

The very stereotypical anime high-school parts were annoying though.

This nearly turned me off of the entire series.

Ah, and listen to TheDarkJay. The Girl Who lept through time is a classic.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.  'tis very good.

Yeah, well, basically every anime fan in the West is familiar with that series. I think a suggestion thread would be better of with less known series.

Mushishi, Ergo Proxy and Beck are all great shows. Just steer clear of Saikano.

Article was flawed (read massive rebuttal posted by linkfrek), but I do have some issues myself. Even though I don't find myself playing videogames as much as I used to, I still find myself wondering "Where is that Zelda game they were talking about since 2006"?

Yeah, 5 cm was very smexy in terms of visuals, I'll give it that.

Grave of the Fireflies in damn-near-universal opinion ^^

Ah, yes, I know that one.

And that's a good thing? PAAAAAH!
Now that we're on the subject, do you know any anime tear jerkers that don't phail? I need to get the bad taste of Saikano out of my mouth.

Have they released Faxanadu for it yet? That was my favorite NES game.

It was beyond ambiguous. It's like, it almost started to do something, then a flashback real, and then, wait, what, are those credits?

I bought the DVD the summer before last. I honestly didn't like it, mostly because of the way the ending was so effing butchered. Other than that the first, say, 80% of the movie was a great watch.
I might sound cynical right now to the whole tear jerker genre though. I just finished watching the notorious tear-jerker Saikano after two years of debating buying it with myself. That thing was complete !@#$%.

I don't care if this movie is based on some !@#$% end of the world theory.
It looks like a great movie!

This. I don't know why some people are snubbing the movie because they don't like the 2012 theory.
