The evil in the mask is Majora's soul. Using that logic, Majora is evil.

Actually, the mask was powerless after MM, so this game technically shouldn't exist. :X

The game itself states the evil leaves the mask. It says nothing about it being destroyed. Majora's soul could very well have been waiting for a new host to show up, and that host could have been waiting for the mask in the graveyard.

Pretty advanced, but I don't know how I can write in C++ to use a save file feature, if it's even possible.

Doesn't the U.S. make monopoly illegal? I don't know if EA is American, but if they are, they could be sued for buying everything out. They ruined the classic Command and Conquer games from Westwood.

Hey all! Who remembers me? Well, Hylian Wars didn't go as planned, so I got to thinking again. I thought "Why not make a sidescrolling Zelda game like Zelda II, and have a villan who has only been in ONE game?"

Majora's Revenge

The game's prologue begins with the HMS in a cave, alone. He is the narrarator, and will be retelling the events of the game. Of course, you will be playing through the game as he is telling the story, and he won't be narrarating in the story itself. After he begins his tale, the scene fades.

A new scene unfolds as Chapter 1: The Imprisonment. In this scene, Link is running through Termina's field toward Clock Town. The world is very different now, as four years have passed since Majora's first defeat. Link is stopped by the Happy Mask Salesman, who cries for help. Link rushes to the man and finds a Poe Sister attacking him. The ghost spots Link, then goes transparent and floats through the HMS's backpack. The Poe comes out with Majora's Mask and cackles. Link jumps for the ghost but misses, and the Poe floats away.

HMS: Oh...it's you! What brings you to Termina? ... ... ... That ghost stole my prized mask...Majora's Mask. The evil has left it though, hasn't it? You defeated the essence four years ago, in the cursed moon. Could you...do me a favor? Don't worry, there is a reward for you. Could you find that Poe and get my mask back?

If you say yes:

HMS: Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! The Poe went in that direction...behind me. That leads to the graveyard. It's a new one the people of Clock Town built. Good luck!

If you say no:

You're...going to deny me again, aren't you? Don't you understand the power of that mask? Even if the evil has left it, it can still be used for ill deeds! Now, will you fetch me the mask?

If you say no again:

Have you no heart? Very well, then...*fades away*

And so Termina proceeded to it's unfortunate demise, and the evil continued to spread until it engulfed the universe in malice...*Game goes back to title screen*

Continuing from the 'yes' answer:

Link makes his way to the graveyard. At one point in the field, the Poe sat at the other end, laughing until Link came close. When Link reached the graveyard, he was attacked by stalchildren. The Poe loomed over a particular grave, and vanished when Link came close. If the grave were to be moved (pushed), then a hidden staircase would reveal itself.

First Dungeon: Grey Poe's Tomb

(I create dungeons by ear, so I won't be posting details about it)

Boss: Grey Poe

This little guy's annoying. He floats around the room while firing plasma balls at Link. They're easily deflectable with the shield, which is key to survival. Link will need to jump and swing at the Poe to damage it. After four hits, the Poe is dead (again).

In the treasure room, Link will obtain Majora's Mask, and a warp panel will lead to the field. The Happy Mask Man will be waiting for Link, and will ask for the mask. However, before Link can return it, the mask hovers into the air, and speaks.

Majora: Heh...heh...heh...

HMS: The mask speaks?

Majora: I am free again, at last!

HMS: Oh, this is terrible! Majora has returned!

Majora: Eh? The Happy Mask Man? I remember now...you're the one who reversed my Deku spell. And you! You're the one who defeated me in the moon!

Link: *Draws sword*

Majora: Heh...heh...heh...do you really think that puny sword will kill me? It is time for my revenge...revenge on Termina, and the universe! *Casts Deku spell*

Link shakes a bit, and turns into Deku Link. Majora then takes Link's ocarina and turns the Happy Mask Man into a mask of himself. After the commotion, Majora laughs and takes the Happy Mask Man away. Link is now unable to rid himself from the Deku curse, and there is no removable mask this time.

???: Is it true? Has Majora returned?

Link turns around and stares at the yellow fairy.

Tatl: He's back! He's really back! Link! *Stops for a second* Link, you're a Deku again! How will we get you back to normal now? You don't have your instruments...do you remember the song, Link? The Song of Healing?

Link shakes his head. Majora had erased his memory, too.

Tatl: Do you even know who I am?

Link shakes his head again.

Tatl: He must have taken your memory, too! We have to stop him! Come on, let's go back to Clock Town. We can think there.

Well? I was going to make Chapter 1 be the demo, but I'm in need of a crew to help me out. Any questions, comments?

Bah, there's always editing to do when making a game. Anyhoo, we're ready to start now, yah? Who wants to cut up and animate sprites?

Ok, I've updated the notes. I have some background on the new race, too!

Oracle Of Secrets Notes

Overworld Map: 16x16 Grid (32 Frames)

Sprites: Gameboy Style

Main Characters:

Link-Hero of Secrets
Farore-Oracle of Secrets, also a writer
Skevarn-Trickster of the Night(?) Villan
Impa-Servant sent by Zelda to protect Farore

Setting: Myscerra (my-ser-uh)

Myscerra is a mysterious land known for it's many
myths and rumors. When the Oracle of Secrets is captured,
the myths become real, and the rumors are true. However,
Skevarn's power turns the myths and rumors into nightmares,
and Link must wield the Book of Secrets to solve the mysteries
of the horrors and defeat Skevarn!

Items:

Book of Secrets: Magical book written by Farore. Documents all myths
and secrets. The pages have a magic sensor that can reveal even the
most concealed things!

Boomerang: Throw it and, hello! It comes right back to you! Can pick up
drops like hearts, rupees, and small keys.

Bombs: Explosive. Can break down weak walls and destroy rocks.

Bosses (9)

Boss 1: Cerberus

Fang is the first boss in the game, and therefore the easiest. His
first attack is a lunge, where he will pounce on Link. This can be
evaded so Link can use his boomerang. The boomerang, if shot into the
one of the mouths of the beast, will pry his jaw open. Link will then
toss a bomb into the mouth of the beast and take the boomerang back.
Repeat 4 times on each head to defeat Fang. (Watch the other heads when
attacking, they thrash about)

Boss 2: Gerudo Leader (Ghost)

The leader begins by throwing her spear at Link. The shield can be used
to block the attack. Link should use the Pegasus Seeds to ram into the
leader, stopping her for a moment. This is enough time to cast a Secret
Seed, since your sword cannot damage a ghost. After being hit twice,
the Gerudo Leader will begin throwing fireballs at Link. These cannot
be deflected by a shield and must be evaded. Hit the leader five more
times to win.

Boss 3: Horned Horse

This boss is difficult. Start by shooting arrows at the horse's back
when he rams into the wall. (Dodge his charge) After three hits, the
horse will shoot several elemental beams from his horn. Fire will burn,
ice will freeze, and the last element will drain Link of two hearts.
At this point, the horse will not charge, so you must hurt him with
a Secret Seed. But how to cast one on him? Set a seed on the ground
in front of the horse and use your boomerang to send the seed into the
horse. Now use your sword to strike the animal. Repeat seven more times
to win.

New Race: Kyprosians (Kypros comes from Cyprus, where Aphrodite was born. Aphrodite was the
goddess of love, lust, and beauty. Perfectly suited name for a plant-affiliated race)

Background Info: Kyprosians are made up of mostly females. Their bodies are hidden by leaves, and
a flower shows on their head. The color of the flower symbolizes social class.

Yellow Flower: Highest class. Leader of the Kyprosians.

Red Flower: The leader's most honored servants. Also termed as knights.

Blue Flower: The nobles. Nobles are like police. They keep the law.

Green Flower: Peasants. The lowest class. These are the normal Kyprosians.

Alright, so we have underground based names, and a reptilian name. Hm....should we go with a type of plant, or a type of tree?

Ah, I see! So then what's Tokay? My vocabulary isn't that expanded. And no, I'm not the same guy. My alias is either TP12, Prince, or Jeod_Cripto.

I've gotten hold of Majora. He'll love this. Anyway, Subrosians are off the list now.

Subrosians
Tokay
D.........

Get it? Lol, just thought I'd throw it out there. But anyway, the new race should indeed be plant based. Does anyone know if the race names had a hidden meaning behind them? Like on PH, where the Cubus Sisters came from the word Succubus.

Coding / Re: [Help - GM7] Closer the object, louder the sound
« on: December 11, 2007, 03:49:52 am »
I know what you're talking about. I don't know if GM7 has the same kind of stuff as MMF2, but try zoning. If your character steps in the zone, the volume of the sound effect gets louder. If the character leaves the zone, the volume gets lower.

The hole jumping room is too hard. I think you should decrease the hole size so it's easier to jump simple holes.

Are you sure your outlets are Ethernet outlets and not Phone outlets? I had to have mine converted when I switched to hardwire.

To tell the truth, I'd rather be making GB games than LttP styled games. IMO, the Oracle games were the best on the GB.

^That makes sense, considering there was going to be an Oracle of ____ featuring Farore in the first place.
