Hell yes. Bomberman, Zelda graphics, online engine.


We've done a lot of work on it since the last update. You can now actually play bomberman, with four people on the other side of the world from each other. The computer-players' AI isn't great (yet) if you're playing it just with yourself, but the main focus is the online play.

Here's footage from the game we played the other day. I'm green, Atrius is red and emkay is blue. Purple is the computer AI. Note that Atrius is across the Atlantic ocean from me, so there's quite a bit of lag.

Still work in progress - but the gameplay's insanely fun anyway. The video was actually generated using the connection-log after the match, that was meant to be for debugging. We could even add a 'replay' function to the game, since half an hour's footage at full quality was easily under 1mb.


Soon to come: Zelda items, things like the hookshot, powder keg, roc's feather, and so on, to add to the Zelda feel. We might release a demo before the whole game.
Any suggestions for items to add?

Awww, Game Maker. >.< The only kind of program that Darwine won't run (as far as I can tell). And the kind of program that Windows won't run either for reasons unknown to me. Well, looks good anyways. :)

You've macified everything far too much :x
I was just about to try this out, but now im running a linux live cd trying to backup hundreds of gigs of data to prepare for a format of xp, yay D:

actually i suggest replacing alot of sounds, ie. every sound
it sounds very annoying, the rest might just be good enough, so i suggest you keep the game like this
and just add more stuff that bends the rules of what you can do
ie. a rare powerup that floats around the map sometimes.. you know to make gamplay not entirely "place, wait, place wait"

O_O freaking awesome lol

--as for the bow and arrow- if you're going to add that, make it work like the boots do in the original bomberman... except with range :p--- the ability to fire a bow to move bombs (ie lay bomb, fire arrow, arrow then carries bomb)

You also need more bomb types; like the giant bombs in FSA :P

@Gonzo: The sounds aren't permenant yet, and we've yet to add sounds to some things, and it'll probably sound better with music. We're also gonna add lots of items - remote bombs and landmines and what-have-you, which should make it less "place, wait"-like.

Plus one-off items that you can collect - like the hookshot, just think of all the ways you could commit suicide with it!


@Mamo: Thanks! n__n We could have arrows maybe for the people on Revenge, which would stun people and move bombs around. Or have the bow as a collectable item, although that might make it similar to bomb-kick (or could replace bomb-kick). And giant bombs will be fun :D


@Hyrule_boy: We could have that, or maybe just names under your icon at the top - you can't actually type your name it yet. We could have it connect to the kousou gameserver and have accounts, where it logs your matches or something, and you can organise tournaments, lots of possibilities.

@wildex999: Made in Gamemaker, C++ and some expertise from Atrius :)

Demo could be right around the corner!
