Here's an update to one of our goals...

Here are some screens for the adventure mode! ( I redused the resolution, detail isn't important here)

So... As you can see, this is the day/night engine. 1 hour is 1 day in game. one transition does 30 game minutes to complete.
I linked every transition with the main time instead of an automatic transition. This way I can jump to every time of the day without having strange problems with the transitions!
Don't mind the graphics please! I made these with my mad skilz0rz. but I'm letting Chilias (one of the team members) work on the backgrounds.
I used the buildings once again, because... that would save me time :P

And here's more screens...
Looks the same, but as you can see, you can turn around with your board and head the other way. what your seeing here is a room transition.
I never really played "Fable"(still have to do that) but I heard there was something like this in it? When your about-to exit a room 2 of these black borders come down on the bottem and top of the screen. you exit the room, enter a new one, room name will be displayed, and you have a nice fade in.
I was thinking of making a white transition when it's day, and a black one when it's night.

There are more upgrades though! but those arn't viewable with screens.

When you enter a whole new area you'll see the intro of the character (like in the race) en the transitions are a little bit slower. after this you'll get a normal transition again.
once entering a area or room you already have been to you won't reduce speed! You can race to another part of the game without even stopping!

Q:  Do you have a wii moree?
A:  Yes
Q:  On topic, more characters.
A:  Yes

xD

meeting went fine yesterday!
(brawl didn't go so fine, cause I was ass-kicked by my friend.. and she's a she)(no offence)(...)

Anyhow.
They liked what they saw, they liked the ideas, and liked the comments posted by ya'll!
I just finnished with the day-night system, it works perfectly!
Just wondering: is 2 hours enough for 1 day in-game? (so 1 hour=12 hours)

There are some minor glitches to be fixed, but they arn't big of a deal.
After this, I'll make the text engines, and we'll be expending the areas.

Not that you care, but I just wanted to point out that were(at least me) still fully working on this.
Yeah of course, I'll also be enjoying my vacation somewere else, instead of viewing this awsame screen.

But, I want to go back to work now, so see you later!

Great! ;)

I'll be having a meeting with the team tuesday and wednesday.
We'll talk about new features for the game, and look at each others work.
(And play SuperSmashBros Brawl till we get tired)(but that's a secret)

Anyhow, I've got some great information and "point outs" from some players and fans.
If there is anything you would like to see in the game, or don't want to see, please tell me!

Here are some things were going to talk about, it's about version 2 of the game:

- adventure mode.
- more racing levels and playable characters
- Improved engine

for more details about version 2 please visit the forum.

have a good night sleep all!

of course I did it, MWAHAHAH XD

BTW, presentation went great, few months back!
this game was interviewed by "gamekings" that's a group of people who interview games and stuff.
I think you could see the interview on TV :P
too bad I wasn't the one that was being interviewed TT_TT
I was too busy owning every one with smash brawl xD, lucky for me one of my team mates did the interview for me.
I did however got on gamekings during the brawl xD so that was kinda fun.

We've got ourselves another deadline, somewere in November during the "gameplay" in Utrecht... (I thought the name was changed, but can't remember)
Anyhow, we want to give the fan's a little taste of the adventure mode there, and maybe some multiplayer.
But yeah, we promised multiplayer for this version too, but we had to remove it because it had a bug. (and I hate bugs xD)

And I'm doing the best I can to remove the (really annoying) frame drop.
computers on my school are specially made for these things, so no probs there. but my own computer doesn't even play the game at a normal 60 fps xD

anyhow, adventure mode is working mighty fine so far! we just have to make a lot of graphics.
O right, and were redesigning the HUD interface, cause this one looks like poo.

Another thing (I keep on talking, lolz, I'll stop after this) were also running some ideas for some new gameplay concepts.
we have some quite new refreshing things, but I want the outsiders to give there vote on some things.
So if anybody has some nice ideas how to make the race less boring, please go to the forum and post your ideas!

It's not a fangame, but an actually gameconcept made by my team and me.
This game is being build in multiple parts.
Every part is a game of it's own, but every part will be added to an older one.
It's like massive updates over time

Overall information:

Dimension: 2D sidescroll.
Game Type: Racing /adventure

You'll have to race against multiple characters (at the same time)
Get a highscore by doing tricks and stuff.
360* spinning with your character.
Be the first to reach the finish.

you can check out our forum on: www.hoverboard.tk
(forum works a little buggy with IExplorer, works best with firefox)
or just download the game right here:
http://files.filefront.com/Hoverboardzip/;10790004;/fileinfo.html

Have fun!

O right, I knew I forgot something:

OR
just keep every thing GB style, but edding more depth in color.
Nooo! Anything else but that. Seriously, it kills the gameboy-mood.
Yeah I guess your right about that, but it was just a sugestion (bad sugestion, but still a sugestion)

I had a question though.

after beating the game without dieing and geting the "extra"
I came to the feeling that you have most of the maps already complete :o
Or are you planning to make MORE maps :o :o
no prob with me though.

do you have any idea what the % is of all  maps together?

yeah, the style could be changed..
But actualy I don't care wether he uses GB sprites/tiles or not.

May I suggest just keeping it this way, and upgrading here and there when you feel like it.
OR
just keep every thing GB style, but edding more depth in color.

But as I just sayed before: I don't care wether you use GB sprites/tiles or not.

Altough rolling doesn't do anything, I like it already XD

notice that: when rolling against the wall, the icon (grab, roll) says: "pain"

It's realy funny :D

yeah your right :)

cause IF you could save, then beating the game without dieing is much easyer.
And it's much beter this way ;)

bout the reflection code:

great XD I wonder how it's done...

The boss is great! :)

How much lives does the final form has? I hit him 4 time.. or was it 3..

edit: never mind, I played out the demo XD
It was great!

And the best part is: I have the feeling that I realy gained something here (and that's a good thing)
My hands are still shaking though :D

Job wel done I say! :)

Graphics / Re: custom link art

indeed, but all mangas have there own style, so you can't realy tell what is right and wrong.
Not only that, but most of the manga are made in human anatomy ways (don't know how to wright this down proper...)
exept for the eyes and stuff, most manga have big (ready to cry) eyes. but not all of them do.

You already knew this, but just in case some people didn't:
Anime: Manga style animated (like cartoons, movies, etc)
Manga: just manga, but it's not animated (comic, drawing, etc)

don't forget that eyes are at the center of the head not higher or lower just in the middle.
Very nice though

Heres the demo!
Hope you all enjoy it, couse there's not going to be any more of them :-\

http://64digits.com/users/moree/ShadowOfTimeDemo.zip

there are some bugs in it, (very buggy) but I didn't want to wayt any longer :P
It isn't even 100% done, (lac of music and sounds, no cool animations, etc)
tell me what you think of it ;D

Zelda Projects / Re: TLOZ: shadow of time.

indeed...
And a lot of sprites ofcourse...

but coming think of it... your laigonaz sprites are made all by yourself.. although you could have used a zelda basis... but nobody can see that :P
so you'll only have to change most of the tiles :D ( and some spirtes, but that isn't much)

And my game's sprites and tiles, are ONLY zelda related... that seems like a awfull lot of spriting to do :P

I guess I have to agree with Laigonaz..
I thought about this a long time ago, but I still wanted to go on with this project...
I'm at an higher school for Game designers, and I would like to start my very own game.. I have a lot of idea's already but I can't work on them becouse of this, and even more projects (fan-games)
I will complete the demo though!
I added the last piece of storyline to the demo, and I'm now (again) unglitching everything.
after the demo, this project (also) will be closed

I am considering to continue it, but I will delete all zelda-ish things. but I'm not even sure about that...

So for now.. let's just wait for the demo to arive....
