This song is based off and old guitar legend:
"If you sit to wait on a crossroads near Missisipi on a moonless night, and you are willing to pay the price, you'll feel a very strange wind. Next, the Devil himslef will tune your guitar and you will be gifted with the ability to play like no one else has before. Of course that in this process you will have exchanged your soul and you will suffer for eternity in hell sooner or later."
This story is the base of the cult to the misterious figure of Robert Johnson, a bluesman who lived and died in Missisipi, at the deadly age of 27 (if you don't believe me ask Jimi, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin... Karen Carpenter anyone?). The legend says it is time to pay the price once you turn 27, so this legend has also been the "logical" explanation for many people to Kurt's and Jimi's death. I also heard that Eric Clapton also performed this agreement with the devil (but apparently found a way to avoid the...payment). The movie "Crossroads" is entirely based on this legend. taken from Ultimate-Guitar.com
heres my song, im yet to write music, but sing it like a contry song and you get the idea:
Heres a story about a foolish friend of mine,
a deserted crossroad,
and a single chance in time
He'd heard about a story
of being a six-string legend,
but in return he could only live,
till he was twenty seven
He drove all day,
to get there at midnight,
an odd wind blew
and the Devil was in sight
He said 'Give me your guitar boy,
Ill make that thing divine,
but when you're twenty seven
you're young soul is mine
He tinkered and he tuned,
that man from south of heaven
he said 'I'll take you're young soul,
when you're twenty seven'
He played like a master,
that foolish friend of mine,
he shot to fame faster,
than everyone else in line
He played around the world,
travelling by himself,
his loneliness overtook him,
found no comfort in his wealth,
He found the only answer,
that many had taken before
he shot himself dead,
behind a big locked door,
now if you want to be great,
don't do what ever it takes
then you've got your whole life,
to realise your mistakes
my young friend's below us now,
still enternally twenty seven,
enduring torture that lasts for ever,
in the city south of heaven.
(if you can think of a few more verses to add for the ending i would appreciate it)
