Still scouting for the new mod team.

Rather than scouting, it might help if you know who wants the job and who doesn't.

Its just the thing about forums, if you ask for something you cant have it <_<, you have to have been offered it.

Though i do agree it would be a good idea to hold applications, give people a fairer chance.

You guys are just too scared. You'd be surprised how far you get by telling the staff now and then that you think you'd be a good moderator/chat operator.
Just, make sure that you do indeed have a shot at it, and have some good arguments ready.

I don't see what the administration means by 'scouting' if they're not going to do something like this. Wait for eligible members to suddenly occur to them? Walnut's right, we need to do this properly. Arguably that would mean not simply picking people based on popularity and/or the personal opinions of about three people, but that's a different topic.

We could of let the members vote for mods.
That would certainly turn out well. *cough*

That would never work, the most popular people would automatically be picked, and there might be some good, yet un-popular potential mods.

(I think you were being sarcastic though anyway XD)

Applications would probably be a good idea, though who would decide?  Everybody has biases, good and bad...

I say no, only because, then the administration would gets tons of emails from people that would suck as mods.
I say let the administration scout out who they want as a mod then ask them.

XD well there are less than 200 people on this forum and you have to realize less than half that is fully active >.> so whoever would be mod worthy is active enough in posting that a pretty good judgement can be made from that since it is a nice semi small number to deal with

The original message was that mods would be chosen by the end of the week. That was the beginning of this week, we're only halfway through it. At least wait until Drewdelz has scouted and piked the way he intended it. Right now, it seems as though people are just being somewhat impatient. Maybe by the end if we're still back where we started there'll be applications, maybe not. If there are though, there will be 2 things I'm sure of:
1. Drewdelz will be flooded with messages from random people that probably won't make a good mod and will have to tediously sort these out from the others.
2. Members will not be allowed to vote. Limey's right when he says that it would be a popularity contest. Unfortunately, just because people like someone doesn't mean that they'd make a good mod, and just because people don't like someone doesn't mean they'd be bad... unless they're unliked because they break the rules or something of course.

The point is... just wait until the end of the week. Maybe Drewdelz already has people in mind, maybe there are already people that he's going to mod and is just watching them to make sure that they'd make a good mod. You don't know what he's doing and are just assuming. A week isn't long. Just wait.

Well, even worse. Your PC is just broken like that so you couldnt respond, and you lose your mod-ship.

Im just pissed off that I started ZFGC-X with Drewdelz just as much. And now I aint even a part of leading anymore.

But hey, if you all think I suck as a mod im ok with that. ???

You'd be surprised... Back when ZFGC had thousands of members and we held apps, not that many people applied... Maybe 30-40ish if memory serves.

Now how special is the thing actually? This is just a forum...not the Oscars ceremony.

Furthermore, I agree with Walnut, DS, Sreh and some others. We need the best mods we can get.
