Dang it! I have found that I'm not so good at making menus look good. I think I've at least got the layout figured out.

The text is just there so you kind of know what is what. The wavy stylish thing is the main collection thing (every Zelda has at least one set of things to collect). And that circular thing is planned to be something special and also somewhat funny. ^,^

After working on my menu for a bit, I have come up with a MUCH better one:

Items and sections are grouped better I think. I'm still not happy with the "headers" for each section. Still, it's good enough for me to move on to other things, yay! XD hmm... maybe I should start a concept topic for this?... meh, soon.

FrozenFire, is this all to go with the Cave Story-style Link? Because if so I am pretty stoked. HUD and menu are looking great, also.

Yes. The map, HUD, and the menu, are all for a game that will use the Cave Story-style Link.

Breedlove (a.k.a. Mr. Moldy)... no. XD

dotyue, I plan on posting a little something about my game and possibly an engine of just the platform elements (physics, various-angled slopes, moving platforms, etc). I don't plan on releasing a whole ton of information, though I must say that progress has been going quite well with the planning, and I'm happy with a few of the sprites I've made as well.

Also, thanks, but I don't think I'll get ALL the awards ;p. However, if there is one for "most original Zelda", I do hope to get that one. ;)

Ew.. might change the quest collection back to the old one..  o.O

That's about all I'm going to show because those items are pretty much all expected (bow, bombs, boomerang, etc), but showing others might ruin a bit of the fun, eh?
What I've done is I switched Link and Sprite's item inventories to make the menu more balanced, added "quit", I also took away the nasty black outlining from items and changed the shading style (because they did not fit with my platform-style Link), though I'm still touching up.
EDIT: I just fixed the tail of the arrow after I realized what was wrong with it and I also fixed up the tunic, so they are wrong in that pic, too lazy to upload the latest. I've only got 3 more menu items to sprite before I start on the platform engine. ^,^
