no i didnt, you double fool.

I've always done it like
Code: [Select]
e----------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------
G----------------------------------------------
D---5-8-10--5-8-11-10--5-8-10--8-5-------------
A---5-8-10--5-8-11-10--5-8-10--8-5-------------
E--------------------------------3-------------
I guess that's a little more advanced though :P

Ha I think I made a topic about my guitaring about a year and a half ago somewhere around here (or maybe DSR?). I just listened to it again and I can't believe how much I sucked back then XD
I prefer the sound of it like that as well myself, the open sounding a bit off, but the notes we are playing are the same; My main concern was the fact that the one shown was the wrong tone.

..I wonder which one Blackmore used...

nuh-uh, chords require three or more notes being played. This is just playing perfect 4ths :)

I highly suggest that you learn theory if you plan on sticking with the guitar, so you can actually understand what you're playing.

a chord is any two notes played at the same time, technically
And, those aren't 4ths either, they're 5ths.

They're 4ths AND 5ths, actually, but in the context of the song, they're 5th chords played with the root note at a higher pitch than the 5th.

Once you get better, you should try this. It's basically my own way of playing "No Cigar" by Millencolin, "mixing" the lead and the rhythm into one guitar part. But this is just the intro to the song. (EDIT: I now set to work on a full tab for this version)

Code: [Select]
|----------------|-----------------|-----------------|------------------|
|--5-5-5-4-4-4-4-|-----------------|-----------------|-5-5-5-4-4-4-5-4--|
|--6-6-6-6-6-6-6-|-9-9-9-8-8-8-9-8-|-8-9-9-9-8-8-8-8-|-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6--|
|--6-6-6-6-6-6-6-|-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-|-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-|-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4--|
|--4-4-4-4-4-4-4-|-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-|-7-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-|------------------|
|----------------|-----------------|-----------------|------------------|

Okay, I'm working on tabbing the rest of the song. Note that this is my adaptation of the song, not Millencolin's version. This is what I have so far:

Code: [Select]
|----------------|-----------------|-----------------|------------------|
|--5-5-5-4-4-4-4-|-----------------|-----------------|-5-5-5-4-4-4-5-4--|

I made it in Power Tab and exported it to ASCII, that's how I got this much so quickly.

To anyone who can play that, what do you think?

... Exactly the same.

YOURS IS ON A DIFFERENT STRING: THE NOTES ARE DIFFERENT THE CHORD PROGRESSION IS WRONG. AND OUT OF TONE WITH THE ORIGINAL. THIS IS A BAD EXAMPLE TO SOMEONE EARLY ON AS DIFFERENTIATING TONE IS SUCH AN IMMENSLY IMPORTANT CONCEPT IN WRITING YOUR OWN MUSIC AND EVEN BASIC TUNING METHODS.

You're right aab

By the way, I practiced a lot and now I can play a few songs:

Naruto - The raising fighting spirit (the flute on guitar)
Naruto - Sadness and Sorrow (simplified)
Lordi - Hard rock hallelujah (intro and the intro-solo)
Lordi - Night of the loving dead (refrain)
Lordi - Devil is a loser (intro)
Tokio hotel - Reden (pretty much everything because it's the same...)

Anyone suggest me more (easy) tabs?

Try the main solo + chords to "For Real" by Okkervil River.

Goddamn do I love that song.
