Okay, you guys really want my opinion on December 12, 2012? Here goes something...

SOMETHING will happen on that day. If nothing else a spectacular event in the skies above

Look there for some of the information. It also states that there are many issues with the date and that things may happen as early as this year June-October. The thing with the mayan calendar is that it's been right a few times before. The other thing, which that page doesn't state, is that the calendar ends on that date. It could mean a few things. Number one, the world (or mankind, a different thing) could end. Also, it could mean that it's the beginning of a new era. Finally, and quite likely, they just stopped there. To them going beyond now probably seemed quite pointless. But hey, I find end of the world theories fun
