Entertainment / Crysis
« on: July 25, 2009, 06:21:11 am »
So I just beat Crysis and thought it was balls-off-the-wall fantastic. Anyone else play it and if so, like it? I want to get some Warhead multiplayer matches going.

Scroll down and watch the trailer.

At first, I creamed my pants knowing the trailer was released; after watching it, I proceeded to bang my head against the wall until I forgot I had watched it.

Never have I ever been more disappointed or bored with Nintendo. What the hell kind of press conference was that?

MC & FS / [SOLVED] : Minish Cap HUD Actions
« on: July 14, 2008, 11:58:19 pm »
Could someone rip the HUD text of all the "actions" Link can perform in MC? Or just post a font, if it exists, for that text.

Thanks.

Audio / Request: Rupee Sound
« on: July 14, 2008, 02:35:37 pm »
I'm looking for the sound not when you actually get a rupee, but the kind of "ching" that plays when the rupees are being added to your wallet after you get a rupee. I mean, say you got a big red rupee, worth 200 or something: your rupees would keep adding up until 200 are added to your wallet, and each time a rupee is added a little "ching" sound plays.

Can someone rip that for me?

Thanks so much.

Audio / New Piece
« on: May 25, 2008, 07:57:11 pm »
I don't really know what I intend this piece to represent, but I like the way it sounds so far.

It only has 25 or so seconds so far, and the last few seconds don't have accompanying instruments.

What do you think of it so far? C+C

Entertainment / Official Brawl Friend Codes Topic

Everyone swap friend codes for Brawl here, or just discuss the game! It's amazing (I got it via midnight release).

(I forgot my friend code but I'll get it later and post it).

Feedback / New Resource System
« on: February 11, 2008, 02:25:25 am »
The new resource system is fantastic. It really makes things efficient and easy to see. With this new system, though, I think the admins/mods, in addition to ZFGC's members, should make an effort to make Minish Cap, LTTP, etc. sections with all of the ripped graphics, put in png format in evenly spaced cells, like they have now. To create a "universal" place to get quality graphics from a game, with an extensive library, would be one of the best things to grace this forum. As well, maybe we could try to do the same thing with ripped music? Goodnight already has his massive sound library, maybe he'd be willing to contribute.

What do you think?

Here is a piece I entered in that old competition here. I thought people might like to use it or something. Yeah...not really complete or anything, but I don't plan on doing any more work on it.

Oh, yeah...I essentially did this in a day and a half, so it's not fabulous.

MC & FS / [Solved] MC Link Knockback Sprites
« on: September 22, 2007, 04:31:50 am »
Hey - in all four directions, and possibly in tiled format (or animated GIF), I require the animation of Link getting "knocked back." (Like after rolling into something, he gets knocked backward).

Thanks.

Audio / Request: Dark World Theme
« on: August 26, 2007, 04:23:17 pm »
The theme that was played in the trailer, I need that theme please without the souds in the background. Now that the game is released, it's possible to rip.

Thanks.

Recruitment / Recruiting Rippers/Spriters
« on: August 18, 2007, 01:14:54 am »
I'm looking for anyone willing to sprite high quality sprites (MC style), but even more so someone who can rip sprites well and put them in animated GIF's for me. This is my biggest problem, as far as procuring sprites goes.

I'm working on a very smooth Zelda engine right now in MC style - virtually bugless, and it runs without slowdown. I eventually plan to turn this into a game, once I get enough spriting support.

Thanks,

MC & FS / [Solved] Link Roc's Cape/Climbing
« on: June 27, 2007, 04:03:00 am »
Can someone please rip/post the sprites of Link (in MC style) jumping in each direction (using the roc's cape). Also, just the plain jumping, not the added boost you get from holding down a or b (as in the wings - I don't want that).

Also, if anyone has the sprites of MC Link climbing, please post those too.

Thanks!

Coding / Rubik's Cube Solver
« on: May 16, 2007, 12:03:04 am »
I'll copy and paste from the GMC:

I'm going to start creating a Rubik's Cube solver. I was wondering what the best way to do this would be. Are there any algorithms out there to apply? If brute forcing is the only way, how would I go about that? I know how to solve the cube - I'm asking how to translate it into code. I mean rather, how to transfer an algorithm for solving it by hand into a computer algorithm.

I'm thinking of the best way to store piece position, color, etc. Maybe having a 3d grid, and storing a width, height, depth? Then storing colors of each piece? This is where I'm a bit lost, not the programming too much.

Other Discussion / Sound Issue

I'm not sure where this belongs...move if needed.

Anyway, I have this weird problem where whenever my screensaver comes up, or I leave my computer for long periods of time (i.e. go to school - and I turned off my screensaver), for some reason, no music on my computer will play. The speakers work, I'm sure, and I don't know what kind of computer setting it would be - but it doesn't even start. I double click a song, and it just stays at 0:00. And this problem applies to anything - WMP, iTunes, iTunes music store, realplayer, anything. When I restart my comp, it works fine. Any idea on what tis might be, and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Entertainment / Super Paper Mario
« on: April 26, 2007, 01:33:45 am »
I got this early last week, and I must say I love it. THe story is interesting (but not the main point of the game, as expected). The trademark humor is back...and so funny. I love it. The fliip ability is just so cool - it allows for some amazing dynamics. Things just pop out of nowhere in 3d, and the way puzzles work...are ingenious. The 2d world looks so lively and colorful and alive...the 3d world is a bit bland comparatively, but not bad. The music is good, as well. The problems arise in the difficulty. It's SO easy. Fans of the Mario Bros. series/Super Mario World will find this too easy - and it lacks many of the previous entries' RPG elements.

I love it, though. I suggest people get it.

Normally, edited posts say "post edited by ..... at 2:30:21" or something lilke that under the post. It isn't being shown now. If you could fix that, it's actually a feature I really enjoy.
