Awesome stuff. Just like to say that IMO NiGHTs is a female, the eyes are very feminine, although thats just my opinion, I read on wikipedia that NiGHTS is androgynous, which means a lack of a specific gender or to have both male and female traits.

Either way good luck with this :)

Yeah we have a full story worked out. Took along time to get there but we have a story, not the most original but it's Zelda, so you know what to expect. right?
As for the Error Model, yeah we'll try and fix him up to b more TP-ish, all the other NPC's from Omedara Village are TP NPC's that have been altered to make them look completely new.

...to be honest...other games are better.
To me Gear of Wars could beat both Mario and Zelda Games easily...seriously, having fans since a long time helps, doesn't?

How the hell do you even compare those 3 games? Don't be daft.

Another thing I'd like to comment on is everyone saying that the newer games are too easy. This is true, SMG is far easier than SM64 and Sunshine, far, far easier. TWW, PH, TP all walkovers compared to Majora's Mask or Zelda1 but does easier mean "less good"? of course not, it means "easier", just !@#$% deal with it, ok? good cos this is a cross that we have to bare in order for such franchises to survive, Miyamoto himself has said that people no longer like long, hard games. I think to an extent he is correct, there are many casual gamers (I.E Those of us with lives/ girlfriends) out there who don't have the time to sit down for a 4 hour chunk of gaming, so they sit down for an hour with an amazing game, like TWW or TP and feel they have accomplished something in that time.

Because these games are easier than we are used to does NOT detract from their quality, of the two, Adventure of Link and TP which would you rather play? I'd choose TP any day, why? cos it's easier? no cos it's just plain better.

And no, Mario Galaxy isn't better than OoT, although it is spectacular. I mean Woah, Bowser looks stunning and the game is a joy to play.

Thanks legendarylugi, that'd be great, hey ZoSo, the story has changed slightly but its mostly the same. The Sword in the title is very VERY interesting too...anyway we've decided to make it smaller, about 4 dungeons and a smaller slightly less ambitious (more attainable) overworld than we were planning. the game uses TP graphics so models should be made in that vein.

doesn't need remaking, needs rebuilding lol. it's all on my old computer, I just need to wait until I can get it connected to a wireless network (atm on that computer I'm leeching off of a neighbour and the connection is often down for days at a time). I'll wait until Linky is online and post some more recent screenshots

Sorry the previously posted screenshots don't offer anything new, here are some from the original scrapped version of Omedara Village (which was a town at the time) please note that the textbox graphic and the text font were just for beta purposes to show the script working. again the team got to try the speech demo with an oversized colin (later replaced with............ERROR). Take a look. bare in mind this "town" was scrapped in favour of a much nicer looking Kakariko Village inspired farming village, screens of that tomorrow.

Link talking to Error, I cant stress this enough, the textbox and font were for testing purposes and no this is NOT A MOCK UP.
Ask Linky, Piers, Azkridth, Naz, Dayjo, Knightmare or Delko (sorry for missing anyone out, lol)

Here is some artwork drawn exclusivly for SoP, the entire set of artwork can be seen on DeviantArt where Lady Shieru (our artist) posts all of her art.

Zelda Projects / [WIP] Reviving The Legend of Zelda: Sword of Power
« on: November 21, 2007, 08:40:27 pm »

Last year and earlier this year I put together a team with the intention of creating a short (short!) 3D Zelda game named Fall of Hyrule, after the opinions and attention received the people working on it began to grow and eventually the project was merged with 2A4AP's own 3D zelda project and Sword of power was born. we had the overworld designed, many models animated, a village and a dungeon (created for demoing the day/night cycle, talking engines and combat) The village was called Omedara Village (anyone who can spot the pun in there wins a pat on the back).

Anyways after having a good friend and work colleague of mine he has recovered almost everything that as lost during the floods which all but ruined my house earlier this year and I am looking to revive the project. I would like to ask the old members of the team to contact me here or by email/msn and anyone else wanting to help to post here.

To the old team: the reason i have broken the "it will be a surprise" silence is cos a)z3 never happened, partially our fault. and b) cos we need more people to help on this project.

If anyone missed the screeshots I posted previously here they are:

WORKING: Day/Night cycle, Village.

the model that was replacing xtremex's link model, animated by Piers:

You have NO idea how much hassle this FECKING model was, the gobshite.

Anyone interested?

Yeah sorry dude for getting this topic off er....topic, lol, anyways give us an in game screenshot and watch the praise roll in lol. good luck.

You only say that cos SMG(lol smg, thats a guns name haha*nerd*) is newer, in the grand scheme of videogame history OoT is more revolutionary and will probably retain that title of "best videogame ever" for many years to come. I'd also like to point out that the title of this topic is misleading. You make it sound like this if from an official poll rather than your own personal opinion. I got SMG on Friday and absolutely love it, don't get me wrong, it really is BLOODY incredible, but how much of an impact it will have on the history of videogames? Its certainly not better than OoT in these terms.

Other Discussion / Vista, Missing keystrokes
« on: November 20, 2007, 01:22:45 am »
Does Vista miss certain keys when pressed? I thought that it was my new laptop being a bit !@#$% but I'm on my "housemates" (IE my ex girlfriend's) computer also running vista and it does exactly the same. Does anyone else have this problem typing fast in Vista or what? It's really REALLY annoying me now cos i touch type insanely quickly.

Thats not a screenshot, thats a mock-up title screen. Before my house was flooded earlier this year I had a demo up and running with what was probably the biggest team ever in a fan game, around 15 to 20 people(probably wrong, I don't care), we had a village demo and a combat demo, the team were entirely made from ZFGC members and 2 outsiders. The floods in Sheffield earlier this year (anyone living in the UK will tell you how severe they were) screwed up my computer, along with the break down of a long term relationship with the mother of my son, Tom, the project went into limbo, most of what we did was backed up and more was recovered from the hard drive of my water logged computer.

This is what a screenshot looks like:

and yes This was a WORKING screen shot of a working day/night cycle, programmed by me. And yes people did get to try it out, including Linky, Piers, Knightmare and Dayjo along many others working on the project.

the model that was replacing xtremex's link model, animated by Piers:

What you posted is not a screenshot, until I see a proper screenshot this game does not exist.

Sorry if this message seems harsh.

Also I'd like to point out that I don't know if I will be reviving the project. Maybe if I get enough interest.......

I don't understand some of these comments here though, the DS has been out for over two years and yet people still comment that the graphics aren't as good as PSP's graphics. Well duh, just !@#$% deal with it.

I owned (actually I sold it for beer money) a PSP and can honestly say that out of the two, I'd rather play my DS.

Eh 3D on PSP > 3D on DS

No !@#$%, Sherlock.

These graphics blow worse than Resident Evil DS.

Entertainment / Re: is the dark world the same as the twilight
« on: July 06, 2007, 04:32:01 pm »
I agree, It's not the Dark World but if I may, I'd like to correct Mewgul alittle, Twilight, is not "anti light".

Quote
Twilight is the time before sunrise or after sunset when sunlight scattered in the upper atmosphere illuminates the lower atmosphere and the surface of the Earth is between light and dark.

Also....Firefox is telling me that "alittle" isn't a real word, bloody Americans (j/k don't shoot me).

Entertainment / Re: LOL! New Zelda This has got to be fake
« on: July 04, 2007, 10:37:55 pm »
Nah, I've discussed before ways Nintendo should rejuvenate the franchise, things like unarmed combat, chancing battles, more side quests (look at Majoras Masks 20+ optional sidestories and compare them to TP's meager 3 or 4). Maybe give Link a bit more of a personality, Ganondorf a more interesting back story, these are whats needed in Zelda, not motor cycles and guns, thats what Zelda would become if Sega made it *looks at Shadow the Hedgehog-and dies alittle inside*
