For my Mario game I plan to theme each world based on a particular theme and base the bosses encountered on theme in each world. Here is my planned layout for one of them:

World 1: Ancient Lareece (La-reece) aka Ancient Greece
Boss 1: Larry Koopa

The only problem is that I have no clue as to what the ancient Greeks called their ruler.
I know Rome called theirs Caesar (which means king) but what did the Greeks call their ruler.

Please put your answer in English, you may need to look up a translation.

Thanks in advance, Zen.

1. Caesar actually means "hairy".
2. As far as I can tell, the Greeks were a democracy. No clear, overall leader.

They had governors, I think. You could probably name him Guv'nor Koopa or something.

Greece can prove to be difficult, simply because it was not a sovereign nation at that time. The country was divided into "poleis" (city states) that operated entirely independent of each other. Some poleis even waged war against each other.

Although you could try Alexander the Great.

Well I already have a miniboss planned called Governor Sneezer. An extrmely congested koopa troopa who sneezes a lot  thanks to Kammy Koopa's magic he can sneeze fire out!

I guess I could ditch the themed area and just make it and ancient area that resembles both Greece and Rome. As for Larry I link think I'll call him:
Larrander (Larr and duh  err) the Great!
(Note: I'm not going to reinvent the kooplings. I'm giving them each an alias, it will make more sense when I release the first demo.)

Wow that's sick! I hope no one puts hair in Caesar Salad!

It's apparently meant to be ironic, as a trait of the Julius line was male pattern baldness.
