If a text engine is too complicated for you, how are you going to complete an entire game?
Especially if you don't have to make the text engine, but just use it.
I suggest that you take a day and tinker with what a text engine has to do, and try to make one yourself.
Or, and I hate suggesting this because I think it sucks, you can find a copy of my text engine somewhere and use that, it's really simple to use. (If you can't figure out how to fill out a few argumetns, you really SHOULDN'T be making a game). Don't ask me where to find it though. I haven't kept tabs on it for over three years now. IT's outthere somewhere.
