Discussion / Re: Zelda RPG
« on: February 06, 2007, 04:11:23 pm »
Hey another turn based Zelda RPG in the mix sounds good to me. Sage Knight doesn't need to be the only one. Only thing I suggest is a better title then Zelda RPG.

Bludleef, Fado is the girl with blonde hair. Excerpt from Wikipedia:

"Fado is the blond Kokiri girl standing at the end of the bridges leading from Saria's house. In Link's younger years, all she does is stand there. When Link talks with her while wearing a mask, she'll say different things than the other Kokiri and usually mentions Mido as well. On a previous version of the official Zelda website, the caption under a screenshot of her stated that the game designers gave her the name 'Fado' during development though it was never mentioned in the game."

So, like I said, there are only three who don't have auburn or orange hair- Saria and Fado in OoT, and a different Fado in TWW.

Oh ok LOL. Fado? Just doesn't seem to fit as a girl's name, but oh well.

I take my laptop to class for notes, and there is a wireless internet connection so yeah when the lecture gets boring I tend to post or just surf the internet.

While I have yet to see other examples of characters from your game, I have a few gripes about this sprite.

First, the arms are just kind of sprouting from the jaw. Maybe all of the sprites in your game look like that, maybe it's because she's a little girl. I've rarely seen a sprite that has the shoulders above the neck. This can be overlooked as just a style choice, though.

The second problem is the number of colors used in the tunic. Sure, there's nothing wrong with using three colors on something like that, but seeing at how the legs use five colors and the hair uses seven... Well, the tunic just looks bad.

The head-on view is a bit odd for a Zelda game, but not a realy problem. Other than that... well, actually, there is one minor thing. The majority of the Kokiri had auburn or orange hair. As far as I know, there were only three Kokiri who didn't- Saria and Fado in OoT, and (a different) Fado in TWW.

Well here is an updated version I changed the colours a bit.

any better?

I suppose by Fado you mean Mido, and he has Red hair. Auburne is a brownish red, and I guess you forgot the blonde girl. Unless you call that orange?

Here is the OOT official art

I don't even think I'll bother watching it. If they manufacture it and expect money out of it (which, legally, they damn well should not) I'm not going to go looking around the internet to order a copy. And if they put it up for download I'm not going to waste my time download hundreds of megabytes for something I won't enjoy anyway.
Well said. However, if they really intent to sell copies or make money in ANY way with it, it will be a matter of hours (if not minutes) until Nintendo forces the host of the site(s) to shut it down. There are just fanboys that are checking it the very first second it comes out and instantly write mails to Nintendo... heck, if the creators are already saying they're going to sell it, it's a wonder they haven't been sued yet. O_o

advent children was a very good movie, but final fantasy would NOT be good with live actors...Also zelda shouldn't leave video games...it just shouldn't.
My post in a nutshell, LOL

If you look at thier site it says they plan on making it downloadable as well as posting it on Youtube and Google movies for people to watch it is free to watch only thing it will cost you is your time.  Right now they are working on the special effects they are done taping the movie so it will come out pretty soon according to David (the guy playing Link).

TP Soundtrack for inspiration on SK
I didnt like it. The only theme I listen to is Midna's Desperate Hour. Hopefully Volume 2 will be better...

I have both volumes and yes I like Volume 2 much better there are live orchestra preformances.

No the movie didn't even start production till 2005, and I am pretty sure Jesus is older than 2yrs old. :P

Sorry I hate that phrase had to point out the logic flaw.

Discussion / Re: Offering Credit as Payment
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:32:24 pm »
Well, a lot of people help others just out of the kindness of their hearts. I don't think credit is necessary, but I'd strongly recommend giving credit anyway, unless the person has helped you with a very minor issue.

That is where the one giving the help would say No Credit Needed.

(Although even if they say that I usually credit them anyways.)

I just figure it is worth a view. I don't expect it to be the next blockbuster hit, but the production value looks about equivalent to a PBS movie, but if you do watch it you need to remember it is only inspired by OOT, and will have differences from the game.

Okay this is the FAQ from thier site so it will answer some/most questions.

When will the movie be released?

A release date is to be advised.

How will the movie be distributed?

No distribution method has been decided upon as yet.

Will the movie be available in <<insert name of country>>?

The movie will be available worldwide. This includes your country!

How long is the movie's runtime?

The movie hasn't been completed yet, but it is estimated to be around 2 hours.

How close to the Ocarina of Time game is the movie?

The movie has not been named after the game, because it is only inspired by the Ocarina story. It is not a direct conversion of the game onto the big screen, and therefore there will be differences.

Will there be any monsters?

Yes.

Will Link speak?

Yes.

Will there be a sequel?

This is highly unlikely.

(If this doesn't go here sorry)
Well I have checked it out and it looks real legit. I will so love them if they actually pull this off.
The storyline is based around Ocarina of Time This looks awesome. The production value isn't the best, but for a fanmovie it rox my sox!
