Best Buy announced they would be selling a bunch of the consoles starting Sunday and according to several emailers, very few people took them up on their offer. Of course this is all anecdotally, so I'm not sure how widespread it is.

What I can tell you is that the Best Buy near my house had 31 Playstation 3s sitting in a lovely wall o' consoles this morning when I swung by the store. Many, if not all of them, were the 60GB model.

This is bad news for Sony.

They're losing so much money for each sale as is. they have to sell 3 to 6 games (can't remember what it was) to get they're small profit. I know so many people that have one or two games for the system, and that's all they ever buy. I don't think we'll see a price drop anytime soon. They could make a downgrade though of course, that might help sales. Logged

I promise you that eventually the PS3 will sell, and will sell well, but not until some high profile games come along, and everyone has a Wii. I told my Dad about this, so he is going to buy a PS3(he loves PS3, but also loves the Wii). I like the PS3, so I'm excited ;D Logged
