Title: Looking for some feedback on this map...

I just don't feel right with the lava areas on the left side. The red is too strong, but I can't get any other color in the palette to work just right. (LttP palette) It might be just me though. Any suggestions or does it look fine as it is? (They are recolored Subrosia tiles)

EDIT: I attached the palette I'm using. I'm pretty sure it's a complete background palette.

I think the entire lava area is just wrong. I don't know but it kinda seems out of place next to a swamp and luscious forest. To me it seems that it goes a bit further up the mountain.

About the colors they seem wrong as well. At least the colors for lava and ground should be swapped. But my idea is that the lava should have shades of red (and not purple) and maybe a tad bit of yellow. And the ground should be brown to auburn brown.

This map is based off the 2008 Oracle of Hours april fools map. Yea I agree, zoomed out the lava area is out of place. But in the actual game you'd only enter the area from the mountains, and you wouldn't be able to view the forest or swamp.

It's a limited palette, but thanks for the input anyway! I'll mess around with the colors some more.

Im realy liking the layout and such, and it all looks pretty good. My only complaint is probably the lava, i wouldnt make the ground red. I would go for a brown/burnt/something, and if its within pallette range tone down the lava or do something so its not so in your face bright stick out like a sore thumb.. Otherwise im loving the map. Are you sure you csnt see the lava from the swamp or vise versa? Because that would be weird..

The colors look like they're taken from the ALTTP palette. Is that what you were going for?

Yeah Miles, it's a style Xfixium made.

Only, the red is the most difficult color to blend correctly.

Here's an update. I recolored the ground but still can't find the right color for the lava. Any of the brighter reds is too intense.

I did a quick check and ALTTP has existing lava tiles. Just look up the Turtle Rock dungeon.

How's this look? Personally I think the color works, but the design is a tad...eh.

EDIT: Attached two different lava tile designs. Left one is LttP tile, right one is GBC tile. I think the GBC tile looks more liquidy.

The design doesn't fit because it is from ALttP, while the rest around it is still LA/OOx. I think the rocks on the land and the dungeon should not be red. It looks as if they are on fire. Unless it is the intention that Link get hurt by them. Dark brown is a better base color.

Gee, who knew recoloring could be so tedious. Kinda fun though, hopefully this is the final product  :)

(Yes, I am aware I haven't redone the top left corner yet)

Yes, that looks fitting to the style and all. one thing though would be to maybe have some small animations on the lava bubbles to give it some variety. other then that it looks good!

The map itself isn't mine. I simply remade it; the original is here (http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/5898/legendofzeldaoracleofhocx8.png)
