I want to be more optimistic about the way I save my games. Right now I know of only the ini file. (Well, how to use it anyway. I know about binary and array)

So what save types do you guys use, and what could I use that's better than the ini file?

Oh...If I remember right, mmf was never versatile with saving options, so I always went with the INI.

I would just export the variables data in a file of random type (.txt, .sav, .dat, whatever).
If it's a simple program I just put a variable per line in the file, but for games I'd rather use binary (hexadecimal).
