== 2.1. A new game, a new beginning, a new starter ==
=====================================================

As in every Pokemon game, we have the professor giving us and introduction of Pokemon. After you see Professor Juniper throwing the PokeBall, and all that, she will ask you if you’re boy or girl, and which is your name. She will tell you who’s your rival, and you can name him.

Once you are done with this, you’ll see Aspertia City, and your mother walking towards to a house (yours). Once she enters, she’ll call you. Answer yes all the times she asks you. Now, get out of the house, and walk left, and then up. Hugh (your rival) will come, and will go walking with you. Head to the balcony (on the first junction turn right, and then go north until you see a stairs. Turn left and head to the north). Go and talk to Bianca, and if you want take a look on the balcony. Answer yes to her questions, and talk her again. Now, she will ask you which Pokemon you want:

Oshawott lvl 5 - Water type
Moves:
Tackle
Tail whip

Tepig lvl 5 – Fire type
Moves:
Tackle
Tail whip

Snivy lvl 5 – Grass type
Moves:
Tackle
Leer

It is a hard choice to choose just one. I kept Oshawott, as you’ll need a good water Pokemon, although now we have Eevee back, and we can get Vaporeon. If you choose Tepig, he won’t fail you, so train him in Attack EV. I never tried Snivy, as I don’t like Grass type Pokemon.
Anyway, choose the one you like more, and she will give you the Pokedex. Now you’re ready to your first battle, and as in every other Pokemon game, against Hugh. He will have ALWAYS the starter that is in advantage with yours.
- If you chose Oshawott, he will have Snivy
- If you chose Snivy, he will have Tepig
- If you chose Tepig, he will have Snivy
Strategy: now, this battle is pretty easy. It doesn’t care which Pokemon you chose, just use the tackle, and you’re done. The only way to lose is if Hugh’s Pokemon was generated with Attack IV 31, and yours with Defense IV 1.

==================================================
== 2.2. So Alder’s hometown is Sangi Town, huh ==
==================================================

Once you finish, Bianca will take you to the Pokemon Center, and will teach you the basic things of it, and will give you ten Pokeballs. Go out of the Pokemon Center, and you will meet your mother and your sister (or Hugh’s sister, I’m not sure), and you’ll get a map and the running shoes (you can ran while pressing the B button). Now, head north, and enter in the cabin. The lady behind the counter will stop you and give you a potion.

Now, once you get in the route, walk towards to Bianca, and she will teach you how to catch Pokemon. Now that you’re free to walk in the route, feel free to catch the Pokemons of the route (Purrloin and Patrat. They’re not very good, but doing so fills entries in your Pokedex).  Also, train a bit your Pokemons, train them to level 9, 10 (may be a bit much, but trust me, works).

When you’re done with the training, go to the east. You will find Alder over a monticule and will jump and talk to you (as he usually does in Black & White). Keep going east and you will enter Sangi Town (heal your Pokemon if you want), and you’ll see Alder standing in the first junction. Head all the way north until you find Alder again. Go to the north and then to the east.

We’re in the Route 20. Now, we’ll have a couple of battles.

Youngster
Patrat lvl 4

Lass
Purrloin lvl 4

Youngster
Patrat lvl 4

Once you’re done with all the battles, head to the east, where is a hiker that won’t let us go through, so head north. There’s a little ranch, and a little area of tall grass to train (lvl 12, 13) and catch Pokemon (you can find Mareep and Riolu as another generation Pokemon). Head north, and in the first fences you see at your left, go. You’ll find Hugh and another battle with him. Before the battle, make sure to have all your Pokemons at full health.

- If you chose Snivy
Trainer Hugh
Tepig lvl 8
Strategy: if you haven’t trained your Pokemon, you’re gonna have a bad time. Just make sure that his ember may damage your Snivy. I highly recommend using another Pokemon like Lillipup to use tackle without having the risk of being easily defeated. If you’re lucky enough, in Sangi Ranch you may find a Psyduck, or an Azurill to use it against him.

- If you chose Tepig
Trainer Hugh
Oshawott lvl 8
Strategy: make sure to have another Pokemon. If you go alone with your Tepig, you’re almost dead. If you have Tepig in a high level, like 12 or 13, you can defeat Oshawott, but anyway make sure to have, at least, a Patrat in level 6 to back up. You may find a Marrep in Sangi Ranch. Mareep learns Thundershock in lvl 8.

- If you chose Oshawott
Trainer Hugh
Snivy lvl 8
Strategy: protect yourself from his Vine Whip. Use just the tackle. Using Water Gun won’t help you. Have any other Pokemon to support.

Once you win the battle, Hugh will say a few words, and two Pokemon Breeders will come, and you’ll get a potion. Then, your rival will run away to the west. Head to the west and you’ll see your rival. Talk to him if you want. Go through the open part in the fences at the west if you want, and head south. There is tall grass, to train if you want. You’ll find a few trainers.

Lass
Purrlon lvl 6
Sewaddle lvl 6

Now, go back where you were before, and head north. Hugh will head towards to you, and then will go north. If you go on the side Hugh is, he will give you a Parlyz Heal. If you go by the side without tall grass, you’ll have a fight.

Janitor
Lillipup lvl 6
Mareep lvl 6

Head to the east through the tall grass, and if you want, battle the trainer that is there.

Youngster
Patrat lvl 6
Psyduck lvl 6

Head east, and when Hugh comes, go to the south. You’ll see a shady character with a Herdier. Head to him, and he’ll ask you a question. Answer either yes or no, and you’ll get the TM 21, Frustration. After, the breeder and Hugh will come and take the Herdier back

Make your way back to Sangi Town. You’ll find Alder standing, and he’ll ask you to go with him to the house. If you need it, heal your Pokemon, because you’ll have two battles.

School Kid
Pansear lvl 9

School Kid
Pansage lvl 9

===========================
== 2.3. The Aspertia Gym ==
===========================

Once you finish with the battles inside, go out. You’ll see a man standing outside. The guy will give you the Friday Box. To the question he asks, answer yes, and you’ll get a medal. When he’s gone, Alder will come out, say a few words, and will go back to the house.

Now, let’s head back to Aspertia City, where the first gym is. Once you’re on the route, Alder will appear standing over the monticule, again. He will stop you, and will give you an Oran Berry. Now is time to go back to Aspertia for once, and for all.

Once you’re in Aspertia, you must go to the gym. The gym is in the Trainer’s School, located at the left of the Pokemon Center. Go to the north, and you’ll see a door at the north part of the place. Go in there, and the Gym Guide will give you a Fresh Water. Cheren will notice you arrived, and will tell you that if you want to challenge him, you must first defeat the opponents.

Youngster
Patrat lvl 9
Lillipup lvl 9

Lass
Patrat lvl 9
Lillipup lvl 9

Leader Cheren
Patrat lvl 11
Lillipup lvl 11
Strategy: you can beat him with any of the starters with any good moves, such as Ember, Water Gun and Vine Wheep. If you have your Pokemons in good level, you should not worry. You may also want to catch a Riolu and train it to level 15, to make it learn Force Palm.

Once you win the battle against Cheren, he’ll give you the Basic Badge, and the TM 83, Work Up.
==================================
== 2.4. Time to head to Virbank ==
==================================

Now we have the first badge. Let’s head to Virbank City! When you get out of the Gym, Bianca will be waiting or you, and will give you the TM 27, Return. Cheren will come out, and Bianca will claim to haven’t seen Cheren for two years. You’ll get a call from Professor Junipper. Then, Hugh will come and Cheren will go back to the gym. Hugh will run after him to have his first Gym battle. Also, Bianca will hand you the C-Gear. After all this talk, we’re free to go.

Do you remember that hiker that wouldn’t let us go through? Well, now we must head where he is. He’ll challenge us to a battle.

Okay, so, I'm having problems with this. I can't make Link collide against a wall, or in this case, a furnace. It's  kind of frustrating, as I don't know what should I do. Can someone help me at this?

Feedback / Post modifications
« on: September 26, 2012, 10:40:43 pm »
I got this idea. If I'm working with someone or something, and I post something that includes the two of us, why couldn't he modify the post. For example, currently, I'm working with Twilight Alchemist and Malefor in Shadow of Termina, and as many of you know, we have our sprite topic. This is the point: we are all working with that. And what if I could modify the OP to add MY sprite? That would be way easier for us to put sprites that are finished, and we have it there, as if they are official. Though, this is an example, it would serve to give you the idea. When creating the topic, there should be an option that says "Modified by", and as options "me", so just you can modify your topic, or the "add user" option, in which you add an user, and both can modify the topic.

Well, I used as base Sitruutin's concept, though, it wasn't accepted, either rejected, so that's why I added red on the

In case that Sitruutin's concept isn't accepted, and we end up using the classic Master Sword, I have it on my PC.

So, I've some Malon sprites, but I think I'm missing the some sprites for Malon's animation when she's walking/running for the left and right. It feels kind of weird when she's running, that's why I ask this sprites.

Characters

Link
Obviously, the hero of the green cap is the hero of this story. Link will have to  retrieve the Master Sword. He carries the Triforce of Courage in his left hand.
Zelda
The one for which the game gets its name. Zelda is the princess of Hyrule. She carries the Triforce of Wisdom.
Sahasrahla
The old man from ALTTP is back with a function similar to in its original game. Shasrahla will aid Link in the game.

The evil Gerudo Warrior who desires the Triforce for himself. After being trapped in the Sacred Realm, he found a way to break free from it.
Link's Grandpa
Link together with his brother were left with their grampa during the Imprisoning War. He raised them as swordsmen, as his father wanted them to be, though, he was a blacksmith, and they both were very good at farming. As they were being raised, they learned sword combat, blacksmith and farming. He was killed during Ganondorf's attack to the town.
Kai
Kai is Link's brother, and is three years older than him. He's 17 in the game, and he left at the age of 16 to join the Knights of Hyrule. His departure meant a real pain for their grandpa. Together with Link, they learned sword combat, blacksmithing and farming. It's not sure if he's still alive.
Malon
Malon is a great childhood friend from Link. Her father, Talon, was a good friend with Link's Grandpa. Malon taught Link farming. They used to play together. During Ganondorf's attack to the town, Talon was killed, and she was left in the town. Link takes her with him to the Castle Town, and is left there with the Princess Zelda. Later in the game, she's murdered by Ganon.

-Dracos: Dracos are a legendary tribe supposed to be Hylians that were burnt by the Flame of Power. This flame had magic powers, as it was able to heal people in matter of seconds. Dracos, as the legend says, are Hylians, and as that, they can return to be normal Hylians instead of dragon-like humans.

However, thanks to a courageous Vento, who defeated the Roc and borrowed his feathers, were able to return. Ventos are gereat at controling magic and can fly.

Graphics / Loading sprites in Game Maker 8
« on: September 20, 2012, 04:37:25 pm »
I'm not sure if I should post this here, but is about sprites, so I'm posting it here. I wanted to know how to load sources in Game Maker 8. I know there's a button that says "Create Sprite", but does it load sheets, or a single sprite at a time?

« on: September 19, 2012, 12:54:22 am »
In my "Problems at seeing usernames", I remember gm112 having anwserd me this:

It's windy's system, I've already notified Geem earlier. He said he'll do away with windy's system eventually.
^ Pretty much. tl;dr Don't worry about it. This will fix itself as soon as I roll out the update and that could be anytime from now to next month.

EDIT: On second thought, fixed.

I know, there it says that I'm making a quote on Star. And I remember being gm112 who answered me exactly that. So, I don't know.

I wanted to ask if I was the only one that sees the name really weird. Any japanese letter is seen tottaly wrong and different on the homepage. For example, Star's name is seen like this:

酒用Star

And Shadow's

Shadow直腸の神

I don't know why, and if I'm the only one.

Feedback / Fan fic subforum
« on: September 15, 2012, 01:24:29 am »
I had this idea sometime after joining the forum. Why isn't there a sub-forum for fan fics? It could be a great sub-forum. I believe that a lot of people has a lot of stories, and they should share it with everybody! It'd be nice to listen - or in this case, read - other people's stories. And it doesn't have to be exclusively about Zelda, it could be about anything. And comics too. Comics are another way of fan fics.

Friendly & Neutral / [Revise] Jack and his crew
« on: September 15, 2012, 12:48:12 am »
Name: Jack (it's a reference to Jack Sparrow  :P)
Age: 28
Race: shiekah
Location:???
Description: Jack is a pirate of the sea, who's goal is to get every treasure in earth. He's in his late twenties. He wears a pair of brown boots and brown pants, a red waistcoast, a white shirt and a Black pirate hat. He's always in a rush, as he's a thief. He's great at parkour, good enough that he teaches Link wall-running.
He left the crew at the age of twent, because of not being able to find treasures. He got upset from this, and blamed his companions. Though, he kind of hates them, he also misses his old days as a pirate. He's crew still awaits his return, as he was the best captain they ever had. In many places he's a wanted criminal.

Name: Guillermo (William in spanish. Another reference)
Age: 25
Race: Zora
Location: Lake Hylia
Description: a young Zora, and a close friend to Jack. They met in an island in the south of the world (no idea how the world is called) (this islands would be something like the Caribean Islands), when Jack was searching for some treasure, and Guillermo ordered him to stop; Jack continued digging, and Guillermo got mad, and attacked him. Then, a sword fight began, and fought until sunset. Jack recognized his abilities with the sword, and took him in his crew.
As he isn't native from Hryule, or any close areas, so his accent is totally different (his accent is like a person who talks spanish, and just began to talk in english). Sometimes, for this, he'll confuse words, and say words in his native language. Although he's a Zora, his parents decided to go somewhere else when he was a little kid, so he was the only zora, together with his parents, to live oustide the Kingdom of Hyrule.
Guillermo is a calmed person, who doesn't like fight too much. He's strong-willed, and will protect everyone who believes that should be defended. When Jack left the crew, he went to Lake Hylia, and taught other zoras how to be a swordsman (in case that my Zorka submission is accepted, he's taught by the Zorka). He wears a pair of black trousers, with a sheath for his sword on the left; a white shirt, and over it, a green waistcoast.

Name: Catherine (or with K, I don't know)
Age: 27
Race: Gerudo
Location:
Description: though she's a gerudo, she lives on the Rich side of Hyrule, as a maid to some rich family. Link meets when ge goes to the Rich side of Hyrule, after completing the Forest Temple. She'll protect Link from some guards, claiming that Link is her cousin. She'll tell Link that she protected him, because she didn't believe that there should be a division between richs and poors.
She fell in love with Jack when he recruited her from some desert monsters, in the Gerudo Desert. She asked Jack if she could join him on the treasure hunt. He didn't care, as long as she did something and didn't budder him.
She wears black pants, a pair of black boots, a white shirt and a violet waistcoast.

Piedra:
Age: 27 in Hylian years
Location: Goron Mountains
Description:
Piedra is a goron that was recruited by Jack two years before his gang was disbanded. He's a goron carrying a blue coat and a red bandanda with a skull in its right. He may look strong, angry, and always ready to fight, but the truth that he's really calmed, and wants to have a nice and relaxed life. He speaks aggresively so Jack doesn't believe that he's not tough
Sometime ago, when Jack was passing by the Goron Mountains, a rock slide happened. Luckily, Piedra was close and was able to save him. Since they became good friends after that, Piedra helped very much Jack on his journey. Though to his tough-looking, and his aggresive attitude, it makes contrast with Guillermo's calmed and relaxed attitude, and they're often fighting. The only one that truly knows Piedra is Catherine.

Mini-Bosses / [Submission] Walter
« on: July 20, 2012, 08:36:44 pm »
Name: Walter
Location: Water Temple Mini-boss
HP: 5 HP
Description: a large vermillion red whale that occupies 32x64 pixels. He was once the protectors of the zora. In a war he was cursed by an enemy tribe. He can do anything, but to attack anyone who approaches him.

Attacks
Body Slam- 0.5 HP (pardon me again for the Pokemon reference)
Walter will jump over the player, and if he falls over him, will get damaged. This can also be done when Link is in the water.
Spiracle Rain- 0.25 HP each projectile, plus leaving water
Walter will throw 4 projectiles of water from his spiracle, to each of the platforms. Also, puddles of water will be formed where the projectile fell.
Ram- 1 HP ( just usable when has 2 HP or less)
Walter will ram against the player in the platform that he’s standing.

Battle Flowing:
Walter will swim around, using his body slam when getting close to Link. From time to time he will use his Spiracle Rain. When he has 2 HP or less, he will use his Ram and his Body Slam (more likely).

Player Countermeasures:
- To avoid the Body Slam, if in a platform, the player must quickly dive into the water. If in the water, swim fast.
- To avoid the Spiracle Rain, the player must dive into the water.
- To avoid the Ram, the player must quickly get out of the attack range

Ways to attack
- When swimming around, using the boomerang will stun him. Once stunned, the player can go and stand over him and attack him.
- After using the body slam or the ram, he can be hit with the sword
