So there are a lot of fantastic, but little-known bands out there right? So I figure, let's put our communities heads together, and spread some indie love!

Just talk about and recommend some less-than-mainstream bands that you know, preferably with some kind of link to one or a few songs by them, like youtube videos or something.

One band I'd like people to be aware of:

Jump, Little Children

These guys are a really great folk-pop kind of band thing(?), who sadly broke up a few years ago, after releasing their 3rd (and in my opinion, best) album.

Albums:

Magazine (1998)

Vertigo (2001)

Between The Dim And The Dark (2004)

Close Your Eyes (From the album Magazine)

Go nuts, people.

They're fairly mainstream now, but everyone should check out The Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Bright Eyes, Spoon, Interpol and Metric.

For less well-known bands, Air Traffic, Robbers On High Street, Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats, The !@#$% Fairies, The Dresden Dolls, Shearwater, Belle & Sebastian, Headlights, Lodger, Maths and Physics Club, The Meeting Places, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, Mew, The Cribs, The Good Shoes and Sibiria all come highly reccomended.

The Dresden Dolls are pretty well-known aren't they? I thought they were. I know Robbers On High Street, they're good.

I don't know any of the ones you listed though TRD.

Edit: Oh, and also The Arcade Fire, I started listening to them about a month or so ago. They're also awesome.

The band I think more people should listen to is
Agalloch

They're a really good folky progressive metal band. They have a lot of post-rock influences.
They often layer a classical guitar and/or acoustic over the electric to create a really cool sound.

Their album the Mantle is also one of the saddest things I've ever heard.

Albums
Pale Folklore (1999)
The Mantle (2002)
Ashes Against the Grain (2006)

In the Shadow of our Pale Companion

Hmmm.

Black Tide - Composed of like, 15 - 17 year olds, the frontman is only 15, their single Shockwave is on Rock Band.
A Perfect Circle - A must for Tool fans, Maynard's the singer.

that's all for now.
