I'm sick and tired of being yelled at about the smilies, if you guys didnt want them why did you vote for them at the smiley competition? Well my vote-happy friends heres another poll. decide this !@#$% now and be done with it.

Yes, it does seem rather ironic that people who voted for them are now bitching about them :/

Regardless, though, you really dont need to use so much excessive swearing :/

It's just ppl have been telling me "Oh these smileys are really !@#$% up the zfgc community" Well the whole reason i made them is because i wanted things to be a bit more like the old days, remember Cabbage patch link? and crotch thrust? Just trying to relive a forgotten era...

If people wouldn't overuse them and use them ALL the time, even in serious posts, I'd say leave them in the set, because I find them amusing too. But some people go like:

Why?

I say keep them, but people need to realise not to spam with them. Thing is, all new things get overused like this... people will get bored of them soon enough. I havent used them really yet, i'm waiting for the right opportunity for it to actually be funny, but because everyone seems to be putting every single one of them at the end of all of their posts, they never will be funny.

I haven't used them because I use the quick reply box, which doesn't have the bbcode or whatever for them, so I don't know how. :P

But I don't think they should be removed. As in the old days of ZFGC, it's the unique, animated smilies that give it a lot of flavor. Anyone remember the giant robot that we had back when TRM was admin back in the day? Just give them some time to let the novelty wear off, and they'll stop being overused.

They are excellent smilies though, and shouldn't be removed.

I agree. They're actually well-animated smilies. Their use will wear down. It's way too soon to start complaining about a problem. And like TRW said, i just use the Quick Reply box mostly, unless I want to quote people, so the only smilies I ever sue are ones that get converted automatically, like the sticking-out-tongue one. But yeah, they'll become actually funny eventually. People will start to use them for situational humour. And they're definitely very old-skool ZFGC. :P
