Discussion / Re: Offering Credit as Payment
« on: January 26, 2007, 04:08:58 am »
I disagree. Assuring the programmer would be saying "Don't worry, I'm going to give credit to whoever solves this for me." It's different than "I HAV EPROBLEM! WILL GIVE CREDIT TO WHOEVER SOLVES"

Regardless, there should be no need to reassure. I just find it horribly annoying.

I just think you are looking to much into it, but it is more likely a pet peve thing than an actual problem.  I agree that credit should be given automaticly no matter what, but I don't agree that it is annoying for someone to mention in their post that they will give credit. This is a way for people to know if they want to work with the individual at all.  I personally don't find it annoying that someone mentions the fact that they will give you credit for helping them. I am sorry you do, but it just seems more of one of those things were it depends how far you read into the words someone says.  In this day and time unfortunately it is more likely for someone to take someone else's work and not give them credit because it is the "easier way". Sorry, but that is how the world is. The best thing to do when "annoyed" by something like this is look it from thier point of view. They think well if I just ask coders for code will they give it to me, or do I need to assure credit will be given? Then they use thier judgement, and it is exactly that thier judgement, and if you don't like it you are entitled to that, but I don't think it is worthy of a topic like this.

I don't think they are offering the credit as payment, but rather assuring the programmer that they will get credit for letting them use thier programming skills.

Please no flaming in my thread.

I can't believe TP Official Art isn't coming out of Nintendo's ears like OoT and WW did. Those games had LOTS of Character Official Art.

Yeah, Nintendo has been very secretive about things in TP don't know why. There is plenty of nice art in the official guide though.

Well here is Rutella

Drawn by a friend

They have them everywhere here and all over online. My advice if your local stores don't have them order it online I suggest bestbuy.com or toysrus.com as they have in store pickup which saves on shipping, and lets you pick it up at the store in your area.

OK these are a bit old, but my room hasn't changed much since.

The tv is now bigger and has lost the ears and feet, and my guitar is out of the closet, and my computer monitor has grown to 19inches LOL. The rest is pretty much the same.

well it depends is he supposed to be inside a cottage or a log cabin?  ???

The top one looks like it is inside a cottage while the bottom one looks like a log cabin.

So I say it depends where he is supposed to be in.

just a normel alttp style house inside.

Ok well if it is supposed to be day outside then I would use the bottom one, because the top one looks like thehouse is inside a cave or it is nighttime.

well the outside light shading inside I can always change I going for the basic things
like the looks do you like the looks and stuff..

(o btw if any one has some custom inside tiles I could use them if I may :))
well then I say the first one.

Debates / Re: Harry Potter.... banned?
« on: January 16, 2007, 05:58:09 pm »
LOL I just got through reading a book called "Finding God in Harry Potter" before I saw this topic it is by a Christian man named John Granger who secludes himself from the "secular world", he doesn't even own a tv!!
Well one day his oldest daughter's doctor who he knows as a great mother and Christian gives his oldest daughter Sorcerer's Stone, and he doesn't know what to do. So he reads it before she does, and proceeds to make all his kids read all the books because of the all the Christian imagery. It is funny how the ones who protest Harry Potter protest something they know nothing about. LOL.

714
LOL I just feel sorry for the kids. :o I know if my Mom died trying to win me a Wii I wouldn't be able to live with myself. :'( It would be enough to make me swear off video games.  :-X

I would like all the OOT sages in MC style front back and side, as well as Link's beast/wolf form from tp also in MC. For use in a current project. All credit will be given of course.
Sorry, I'm only doing single sprites, see first post.
Oh okay then just Link's beast/wolf form from TP in MC style.

Entertainment / Re: I think EA should make their own console.
« on: January 11, 2007, 07:29:33 pm »
In a recent interview with some dude on IGN, the representative from Apple said they may get into the console market one day. I think it would be interesting to have another giant juggernaut of a company join into the console race.

That'd be a cool thing. Macs are already ahead in terms of graphical performance, so an Apple console is destined to have some excellent visuals.

Graphics don't matter >:(. No-one will beat Nintendo >:(.

Lies. Good graphics can make the game seem more real, and in turn, you'll get into the game a lot more. you'll feel like you're in it or something. Halo 2 did that to me. Like Jason Jones said, you want the player to feel like he's on Halo fighting the Covenant instead of just sitting in their living room at 2 in the morning trying to finish some stupid video game. So, go graphics.

True to some point, but still without a good storyline and decent gameplay graphics are nothing.
