Feedback / Re: When I try to raise a user's karma

I think themes might be more important than browsers in this case.. could be an CSS bug or something?

Is there a place we can view these reasons? Are they public too? I figure public reasons would inform the community on something, like drawing attention to a project or alerting the community to a troll faster.

This actually isn't that bad of an idea... it would be nice if it was possible.

I can view it, but is that an admin only function?

I think disallowing negative votes takes away from the balance of the system.  Regulating it or leaving it absolutely open (with a trust system) allows for it to be used properly.

We used to do it just fine back in the old days.. it was pretty cool to be honest.

Perhaps building a system that had some math built into it.. the amount of positive or negative votes you have controls the amount of positive or negative votes you can distribute - this would balance out spam/trolling people with negative votes.

<insert maths>

I was just thinking the same thing wally...  It's one thing when a topic is bumped, it's one thing when a user says 'what happened to this game?', it's another thing when an author (lets look at DanTheMan's recent post) updates a game - well deserving of being bumped up a few topics, rather then making a new one.

Anyway, it's almost 6am, saw a moderation notice and thought I might login. :p

Thank god for dropbox, right?

I'll take a look at the game when I get to work.  I'm totally not a mod though. :p So hopefully someone un...unbrokes? it.

It doesn't work because there's no sense of management or responsibility in the project.

So in your opinion what would better facilitate the management and coordination of a project? (I'm not looking to offend anyone here, I'm looking at lessons learned and what can we done to actually make a successful community project).

Maybe that's the key, everyone should lower their expectations. XD

Or maybe, people who (much like myself) don't concern themselves with ZFGC except when exciting topics come up, should just let it go.

!@#$% I lost my entire post, god dammit.

4Sword Save:
PLEASE:

1) DO NOT Wage war against this website.
2) Play nice and enjoy.. it's how your community will be built up..

I for one encourage innovation.. you can't change a website.. and Chris I know you just sent me a message on MSN, while I agree with what your saying in the context to ZFGC itself, if you want something new, you got to make it.. you can't take it out of what exists already. That just doesn't work most of the time. <3

PLEASE BE ADVISED -- AS USUAL I DID NOT READ THE ENTIRE THREAD TOO MANY LONG POSTS.

(4sword that wasn't my entire post, but thanks :P)

I haven't played it yet, I bought it for my mom....

I have to say though: nothing compares to Dragon Age at this point for me.. that's my new Fable.

« on: January 01, 2011, 11:59:04 am »
Basically...

I'm going to work on moving everything over today, once that is done and I have a copy of the database confirmed and working on the moved website, we will toss ZFGC in maintenance mode and copy the final database over... and once we confirm that's running we will switch the DNS up.

Sounds exciting, hopefully we get this done soon, it's about a year over due.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

:p

I like the Ghost Recon games, but I think most Tom Clancy games are probably about the same in terms of gameplay style.

Mammy nails it.

Also, I must object to your signature. Donnie Darko can go to Persia if he wants to. He just has to watch out for airplane engines. (This is totally on topic, because of the Donnie Darko reference :D)

I think no one comes in because there's nothing to talk about. There's really never been anything to talk about. I recall you and I trying to make a subchannel from #zfgc specifically for game development discussion, it failed, because no one came to the chatroom to discuss game development.

That said, time to pull a DJ (<3), metal's got control of the channel, you all can do what you want. I'm tired of this trivial !@#$%. I have better things to do than be called a liar and corrected on what I believe in. ( and I will not deny that there are probably times when something has gone unnoticed by me in #zfgc currently or in the past.  ) I will however, not be told what my beliefs are or told how I do or don't manage situations.

It would be nice if you kept #zfgc on kbfail, but whatever happens happens. Good luck.

If you know anything about KBFail and Windfyre, you'll know that I would never let any channel on my network be a planning point for any point of trolling/attacking against any community.

Don't walk in here and make !@#$% up off the fly just because you ASSUME that's what's going on in the channel. I'm sorry you don't like the individuals that are in the channel, bummer for you I suggest you not visit (wait a second, you don't visit, that's right.).

Please avoid judging something you're not involved with, something you pay little attention to. It's a little disrespectful.

With that said, I'm going to suggest this topic get's back on to focus, which is in relation to the shitty graphics of a Wii game.

I got stuck the first time too... You see.. I didn't take the time to collect the faeries you needed to collect. :p

Long story short, you can only play so far when your magic meter is still the same size it was when you started.
