The Legend of Zelda: Three Lances

BACKSTORY:
From the depths of time,
A tale of a Hero has been kept,
Guarded by the Royal Family,
And revered by the common folk.

The story tells of a hero named Link,
Who, whenever evil threatens Hyrule,
Will rise up and destroy the evil,
Or so the legends say.

From a parallel dimension known as Termina,
Ganon was able to circumvent the barriers,
Which divided the Sacred Realm from Hyrule,
And was able to dominate the land.

With an army of Terminians and fell beasts,
Ganon's mastery of Hyrule was swift and ruthless,
However, before Ganon could destroy them,
The Princess Zelda and the Master Sword vanished.

Ganon sought these two with all his power,
But he could not find the location of either.

The only thing that Ganon could find,
was a stone tablet.

On it, the words DIN, NAYRU, FAROE.

STORY (a.k.a Opening of Game):
Link and Arc are at Link's grandfather's house, listening to a tale being told in Old Terminian. They leave after the tale is told, but Arc leaves something behind. By the time Arc gets back it is very late. Travelling through the Greywood, they are attacked by Moblins. Link attempts to fend them off with his sword, but there are far too many and Link is too inexperienced. Link is knocked unconscious and Arc is dragged off kicking and screaming.

Link is later woken by a faerie who calls himself Pach. Link asks Pach to help him find Arc. Pach agrees to help if the Great Fairy in the Lost Woods will let him. As Link has had all of his possessions looted by monsters, he goes home to get his spare shield and then ventures into the Lost Woods.

GREETZ:
Bearer for his shield engine and the inspiration I had for the 'Omega Engine'
Captain Goodnight for his MM Clock Engine and OOT Heart Engine (bless his little heart XD) and for the other part of the 'Omega Engine' inspiration
Hero of Fire for LTTP styled OOT houses
GearGOD for the Luminaire engine
Talman25 for the Big Poe sprite
aab for the Deku Baba sprite
No BODY for the Phantom Ganon sprite
Gourry Inverse for his Gossip Stone and part of his Clock Tower Clock Face sprite

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
2awesome4apossum for his support of the game while it was in its early stages. Without his support the entire project would have been derailed at an early stage.
Bearer and Captain Goodnight for inspiring the 'Omega Engine' and making me envious enough of their skills to begin to sucessfully carry it out.
My brother Thomas (Hoodlum4hire) for nagging me to 'get on with writing the code'.
aab for making a Deku Baba sprite and giving me a real challenge in coding the engine for it.

Looking as sleek as ever!  I especially love the logo at the top :)

Can't wait for a more debugged demo :D

I certainly remember this from over a year ago, and it's still looking sweet. The HUD looks a little too all-over-the-place but apart from that, damn good job.

Well, I'm gonna be bugfixing for a while, and while I'm doing that I'll probably do a few modifications here and there in terms of the visual style as well. Just a few little tweaks in terms of overall shapes etc. I'm finishing off the forest/woods tilesets and working on a few other places too. I need to make a few more customs to make the game that little bit more unique.

A friend of Link. You'll see how he fits into the story in due time ;P

ADDED: I've decided to make some alterations to what I've already done of the engine to make the game run a little smoother and prune down some unessecary file size.

Looks quite good so far. I take it you haven't coded that clock engine yet, it always seems to be 11  ;)

But...hmmm..the lances just look a little rough against that logo, it might just be because it's on such a clean background though.

The clock IS coded, but I've set it to be frozen on 11. It's for the intro of the game, the clock doesn't actually start until a certain point in the story. It's always daytime in Kokiri Forest in OOT until you go onto the field...this is a similar idea.

TECHNICAL UPDATE:
I'm proceeding to majorly change the game's code in order to speed up production; and also because the old direction the engine was heading in was looking for trouble. ;D Anyways, there should be a new engine release very soon, which will hopefully feature the actual opening of the game, and maybe some refurbished GFX. But that's not as likely as I'm still wrestling with the Deku Baba and Leever engines *shakes fist at problem code*. The engine you'll be able to sample will have most of (if not all of) the existing features in place.

RapidShare ain't the best file hoster. I'll have a new demo finished soon, and I'll upload that to a better file hoster.

I'll use the host you suggested Hyrule_boy. Also, everybody; feel free to check the first page. I've updated the credits list. More will be added later. I'm aiming to have the new engine finished within the month. I hope I can finish it soon! I wanna get onto making the game proper.

Great because I won't download anything anymore thats hosted by a shitty host like Rapidshare. Nobody wants to click 50ty pages before he gets what he wants. And after 50ty pages you've to wait 30 seconds or more.   :(
