At the start of the game if you move over to the pot or edge on the left it won't allow you to move a little more pixels in which i thought suggests 16*16 tile collisions?
I'm sure the sound continues when the game window is inactive.

Gotta love that dungeon theme , this is great and has given me motivation! Although i do have to point out a few errors.

1.The Items in the HUD seem to remain during a whiteout and i'm not sure if that's how it is.
2.Your collisions aren't exactly spot on but nevertheless i seem to be struggling with collisions in my game.
3.I think the sound continues when the game window is inactive.
4.There is no 'slow' diagonal movement  like in the original game.
5.The charged sword loses its power during moving screens.
6.The rain seems a little out of place.

I think the way you have to change the room size is a little silly ; why can't you just have a box where you intput the width and height instead of rows and columns which is more confusing. On the upside , this is great for creating maps/levels!

I moved on to a language called PureBasic from gamemaker... I used it to create DLL files for gamemaker. It is a procedural language so it will take a while to learn the concepts required to make games with it. But it is also very easy, amazingly powerful and will teach you more about programming than anything else you could move to.
i moved on to PureBasic too!

Yeah I gave it a go, but no luck, there are many options within GM, and I cannot test for them all. So it still could be an issue with your project that GMare is having, based on your project settings. In that case I would have to have a copy of the GMK and find it through the reader / writer parts of GMare.

so when you export things into a gmk what should appear ? everything or just the tiles ?

after i tried exporting it more than 3 times i created an object in GM but it wasn't visible in the room so i wasn't sure what was causing that problem.

Hmmmmm, can you share the project and I can see what's up?
Sorry , i deleted it and can't find it because i got a problem with my recycle bin , anyway i tried exporting it and it sort of messed up the gmk , i couldn't get an object to stay visible , the tileset appeared though but the objects didn't , did you try experimenting?
