I wanted to find out If I could see if I could do a turn-based engine. I just rolled with it and eventually got it to where it is now. I just started today, and will try to improve it and add more on to it. It uses and will continue to use Final Fantasy Mystic Quest music.
Controls
Enter: Open/Close Menu, Attack (When its your turn).
Shift: Cast "Cure".
X: Run on Map, run from combat.
Z: action button.
HELP!
The Top Numbers are HP/Max HP
The Middle Numbers are MP/Max MP
The Bottom Numbers are EXP/To Level-UP EXP

Hmm... How are you calculating damage?

Instead of doing it just STR-DEF, I might go with picking a random number from that.

He said INSTEAD of strength minus defense. Unless he meant that he would choose a random number from the general area of the strength minus defense number... but if so, that was a terrible way to phrase it.

This has tones of potential... but for now its like "Bleh..."
I suggest getting rid of random encounters! I HATE HATE random encounters. As far as the engine goes, it's solid as a rock. Ooh! I know! You could make it like Chrono Trigger were you see an enemy and if you get too close, you go to a battle, transitionlesly! Or not. Just an idea.
I think you wanted it took be more like FFMQ though, so thats probably a void idea.
But really, the engines probably the best turnbased one in GM.(Well... the first i've played anyways. :D)

Thats a cape! It adds to the Rpgocity of it.(If you ask me.)

That Link, is the sprite property of Exate
Exate has let NO ONE to use that sprite
It seems like you stole it, or didn't get permission from him.
It's less likely for him to let you use it, cause when I asked, and someone else, he says NO
change link's sprite
Or make your own caped link

I'm glad you like it, although I was just about to post the new update, which contains:
Random damage instead of fixed damage.
The first boss: The Golden Octorock
Random enemies: 1 O, 2 O, or 1 Blue O
Running on World Map
Running From Combat
Cure now heals in the range of (15-20)
Improved Graphics
Soon to Come:
Fixed attack system (You can attack both enemies at once if there is more than one)
Menu
Game Over Screen
A Real Beginning instead of one small screen.

Since I'm back on XP Pro SP2, I've tested this. This is really, really good! I like it DBBrooks! I also noticed that you used music from Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.

i had the idea of a strategy zelda game too long time ago ^^ but it was real time battle like warcraft :P

the latest engine could make units, houses and farm ore ^^
edit: just tested it ^^ it looked like a strategy turnbased engine... but was more rpg/ff like... well good anyways xD
