[fixed] Gmail uses emails for Gtalk...

...why should the profile ask for your nickname? It needs email, just like MSN. Just a typo, but I'm sure it would be discussed on here sooner or later. And the more polish ZFGC has, the more people will want to go on.

The reason it asks for username / nickname is because it automatically appends the @gmail.com postfix.

Okay, but still, you CAN change your display name. For example, I am Ryan, but my email is reoguy888@gmail.com, so I would need to put reoguy888. See what I mean? This can be confusing for some people. You can atleast change it to username.

But that would be pointless then as the people would not be able to talk to you over gtalk as they would need your email not your display name.

Nickname is generally interchangable with username.

I second this. And the @gmail.com should not be appended automatically, because it's not only GTalk that uses the Jabber protocol (and different Jabber domains can talk to each other). But I guess that if the domain is not specified it could append @gmail.com for now, since a lot of people have not specified it now, excluding Sol.

Works both ways now, if you just enter a nickname eg. 'helios4ever' it will append '@gmail.com', if you enter a full email 'helios4ever@whatever.whatever' it will leave it as it is.
