Ever since the new forum is up, scrolling turned really slow. So, if I try to scroll with the scroll-wheel on my mouse, it takes ages to move on. However, that only occurs here, and only with Firefox 2.0.0.2.

It works fine here, however I think I may know where the problem is - Some browsers do not render static backgrounds very well, I shall try to sort it out.

I'm pretty sure it's the background too.  Whenever I scroll, my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and it lags, using Firefox 1.5.0.10

However, I believe this is due to the "use smooth scrolling" option in the Firefox options.  Uncheck that and it doesn't lag, though scrolling doesn't look nearly as nice as it does with the option enabled.

Would it be possible to simply have an option in your profile to use either a static or scrolling repeating background?  Or would that create issues I'm not aware of?

Yeah, happens to me too.

If I scroll like hell up and down it keeps scrolling for a long time after I stop. The same does NOT happen on other SMF forums. But same thing happens in other Gecko based browsers, such as Epiphany, but still only on ZFGC, AFAIK.

EDIT: And no, I have smooth scrolling off (always had). It's pegged on 100 % still. When I enable it though, the effect of stuff overlapping as Sol described is much more visible.

Tried that, it works somewhat better but it still is choppy.

Yeah, the BG is causing you to lag, I'm on IE right now because Firefox annoys me at times, and it's fine.

Fox, I only have that issue after recently formatting.. If you have done it, make sure your graphics card drivers are installed.

BTW, I think it also would look nicer if the background scrolled with the page D:

They are, they are... and honestly, I don't think that's the reason. D:

Make sure smooth scroll is disabled.

It's already been stated that that doesn't work.

Sol's fix looks promising. Thanks man.

Can't say I've experienced this myself, smooth scrolling or not.
